Prizes have been announced for the Times-Gazette's annual "Adorable Christmas Kids" photo contest, which invites readers to submit Christmas-themed photos of children. Talk Of The Town Boutique and Children's Shop, on the south side of the square, and New Covenant Christian Bookstore, on North Main Street, are the premier sponsors of the contest, with Domino's and DSC Sanitation as additional sponsors.

First prize for the contest is $200 from Talk Of The Town Boutique; second prize is $100 from New Covenant Christian Bookstore.

Photo submissions will be open through Dec. 19. Look for the "Adorable Christmas Kids" button on the website, or go to Only online submissions will be accepted.

Voting starts soon

Voting will start Dec. 9 and will also continue through Dec. 19 -- but waiting too long to submit your photo will deprive it of the opportunity to receive votes. Past winners have been successful in rallying friends and family to vote. Only one vote is allowed per person per day. We will be watching for attempts to game the system, and reserve the right to disqualify any entrant we suspect of violating the rules of the contest. Complete contest rules are available at the website.

Selected photos, including the two winners, will be published in a four-page special section in the Dec. 23 edition of the Times-Gazette.

Please only submit photos of children to whom you're related. Possible subjects or settings include children with Santa, children in front of the tree, gifts being opened, kids looking at Christmas decorations, baking holiday cookies or enjoying a parade.

Professional or copyrighted photos may only be submitted with the prior approval of the photographer or copyright holder.

Photos can be new or old, from this Christmas season or years past.
