Tool theft suspects taken into custody
Two suspects have been charged in connection with the theft of tools from a Shelbyville home, and police said Thursday a third arrest is pending.
Tools and other items were reported stolen earlier this month from a home on Shelbyville Mills Road.
During the investigation detective Nathan Everhart developed leads that led to the arrest of Sierra Nikole Haggerty, 18, of Highland Court.
Haggerty allegedly actually took the tools from the residence and carried them to the home of Cajun Kane Kemp, 24, of Carter Street, Everhart discovered.
Police said Haggerty left the area and was arrested this week at the home of relatives in Traverse City, Michigan. She was returned to Bedford County and is being held on charges of aggravated burglar, auto burglary and theft of property. Her bond is set at $45,000.
Kemp was arrested Wednesday in Shelbyville on a charge of criminal responsibility for conduct of another. His bond was set at $10,000.
Many of the stolen items have been recovered, police say. Everhart is continuing to track down the remaining items.
