Thanks for support of crawfish boil

Sunday, March 31, 2019

To the editor:

United Way of Bedford County’s third annual Shrimp and Crawfish Boil was a rousing success!

No event of this magnitude happens without the assistance of many people.

First, I want to thank the members of the UWBC board who worked so diligently before, during and after the event.

Second, a big thank you to all of our sponsors for 2019 – platinum sponsors FirstBank and First Community Bank; gold sponsor Dennis Young Insurance/Microtel; blue sponsors First National Bank-McMinnville, State Rep. Pat Marsh, the Law Office of Kristin Brown, and Cooper Steel; and red sponsors Lowery Jewelers, Citizens/Traders Bank, ALM Enterprises and Davis Dental.

Thanks to our partners who set up tables to demonstrate to people the good works they do. We are happy to be partnered with so many strong non-profits. The more money we raise, the more money we can provide to them each year.

The food was outstanding. A big thank you to Tyler Gill and his crew for the work they did in cooking the crawfish, shrimp and vegetables. We are still hearing compliments concerning the quality of the food.

Tyson Foods provided the grilled chicken once again for those who don’t like crawfish and shrimp. I cannot thank the Tyson folks enough for all of the support they give us throughout the year at our various events.

In addition to Tyson, other major contributors were Cherokee Distributing, Celebration Liquors, Kincaid Service Company, Tennova Healthcare and EnterSource.

Also, a thank you to the Times-Gazette, WLIJ-AM (1580) and WDUC-FM (93.9) for their support as well.

People are already talking about next year’s event. We are already working to make it even bigger and better.

Thanks again to all,

Mark McGee
