To the Editor:

The Bedford County FFA Alumni Association wanted to take a moment and publicly share a large Thank You to the Times-Gazette along with many others in our community. The Times-Gazette has been very good to showcase our students' accomplishments to the community. Our role is to support the Future Farmers of America chapter at Shelbyville Central High School. This support involves many facets, not the least of which is financial.

With that, we just completed our 4th Annual FFA/Newton Motors Truck & Tractor Pull. This event helps us raise the funds for materials, supplies, travel, and scholarships. With awesome Partners in Newton Motor Group, Thompson Cat, Select Trailer Co, Tri-Green Eqpt., Landers Well & Pump Service, Stovesand Equipment, Tyson Foods, Farm Bureau, First Community Bank, FirstBank, Farm Credit, Traders Bank, Northpoint Vet Hospital, Marshall Farmer's Co-op, Davis Farms, M&L Greenhouse, Gateway Church, Wholesale Supply Group, Wilhelm Equine, and J&J Detail/Shavings we were able to host an event our community should be proud to call our own! Family friendly, we hosted something for which Bedford County is known- an awesome Truck & Tractor Pull. The Bedford County Ag Center's Manager Helen Raby had things in great shape which made everyone feel right at home. Newton Motor Group along with our other Partners helped with prize money to draw in competitors from all over the region. With that type of competition, several hundred fans lined the track for a great night of action.

The Bedford Co. FFA Chapter has recently had several District, Region, and State Championship teams among their credit. Agriculture is alive and well at SCHS, and Shelbyville's support for this event, and our Partners are something we are grateful for. Again- THANK YOU! See you next year.
