Writer 'hates this town' over speed limits

To the Editor:

What is wrong with Shelbyville? They have lowered all our speed limits. It used to be 40 miles an hour. We went through all the road work for years, just for them to lower the speed limit to 30 when it was done. On Madison Street they have now lowered it to 40 instead of 45.

They are doing it all over town. People, why are we taking this? We need to stop it.

Go to Tullahoma. They have raised their speed limit. Go to Huntsville. There is 65 right through town; you don't see wrecks. Now that we have turning llanes, why are we getting lower limits? Some one tell me what we have to do; I will start it. And the 50 miles an hour out 231 is a joke. How many do you see doing it? Not many. But I do. I'm beginning to hate this town. If I didn't own my home, I would definitely move.
