Ben Amos Cooper
Ben Amos Cooper, age 63 of Shelbyville, TN (originally Concord, NH) departed this life Sunday, June 21, 2020, due to ongoing health complications. He was born in Concord, NH on August 1, 1956, to the late Arlene (Moody) and Wallace Cooper.
Ben was the seventh of 10 children and attended Concord High School, where he graduated in 1976.
Ben was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He had an immense passion for animals and enjoyed being outdoors every moment of every day. He loved fishing, camping, floating the river with his brothers and his son, and nothing mattered more to him than family, especially his young granddaughter. Ben worshipped his Harley, as a young man and never went far without his dog. He was a man of his word and when he loved, he loved with everything he had. He will be missed by many and his memory will live on forever.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by: his sister, Dinah Haycock; brothers, Jerry Cooper, and Jack Cooper all of New Hampshire.
Ben was survived by: his wife, Nancy (Vincent) Cooper; son, Matthew Cooper; daughter, Michelle (Patrick) Harwell; granddaughter, Rebekah Faith Harwell all of Shelbyville, TN; sister, Diana (Mark) Johnson; brothers, Robert Cooper, Richard Cooper, Bruce (Dolores) Cooper, Len (MaryAnne) Cooper, Lon (Cynthia) Cooper, along with several nieces, nephews, in-laws, and of course his beloved German Shepherd, Bernie.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2020, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Patrick Milam officiating. A visitation will be held prior to service beginning at 4:00 p.m.
