Thomas Mitchel “Mitchie” Lamb
Mr. Thomas Mitchel “Mitchie” Lamb, age 81, of the Rover Community in Bedford County, TN, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, in Shelbyville, TN. He was born in Bedford County to the late Ernest Gilbert and Elizabeth Jane Jacobs Lamb. After driving a truck for 39 years, he retired from Genesco and spent his time with family and friends on his farm in Rover, TN. He was a member of Holts Corner Baptist Church. He dearly loved his family and the Atlanta Braves baseball team. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, June Pearcy and Nannie Hill, his brothers, Billy “Dick” Lamb and Clarence “Bull” Lamb, and his longtime companion and buddy, Maxine Pope.
Mr. Lamb is survived by his children, Tanya (Scott) Leonard of Chapel Hill, TN, Christopher Lamb of Knoxville, TN; step daughter, Twylia Armstrong of Knoxville, TN; 5 grandchildren, Tanner and Tate Garvin, Deanna (Jason) Huskey, Jeremy Wiles, and Wynter Lamb; 2 great grandchildren, Ivin and Avani Huskey; sisters, Jane Smith of Longview Community, Dorothy (Larry) Wilhoite of Rover Community, Peggy (David) Luna of Unionville, TN, Rose Mary (Steve) Adgent of Rover Community, Connie Lamb of Longview Community; brothers, Clifford (Diana) Lamb of Unionville, TN, Kenneth (Bell) Lamb of Unionville, TN; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews who dearly loved their Uncle Mitchie.
Visitation with the family will be from 4 PM until 8 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home at 10 AM on Friday, June 26, 2020, with Rev. Larry Chatman officiating. Interment will follow at Pressgrove Cemetery in the Northfork Community of Bedford County with Rev. Mike Hannah officiating.
Paul Smith, Dewayne Holder, Jason Luna, Cody Adgent, Blake Crutcher, Tanner Garvin, and Tate Garvin will serve as pallbearers.
