After much consideration, Beta Iota Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) Sorority has cancelled its 42nd annual fashion show and dinner slated for October.

The local autumn social, traditionally held at First United Methodist Church on the public square, is a fundraising event in which proceeds are contributed to scholarships for local students and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Over the years, Carolyn’s and J Jordan Boutique and other Shelbyville merchants have joined together to give guests a hint of new fall styles and color choices. Following a fall-flavored meal, local women grace the runway in nouveau sweaters, business jackets and classic pants-many gracing the runway over the years in varying lengths of sophistication.

In light of the cancellation of the event, ESA has collectively contributed funds to allow the sorority to continue to provide generous donations for the 2020-2021 year.

Sorority members said they look forward to the return of their 2021 fashion show.
