Connie Leigh Davis
Connie Leigh Davis, age 54, of Shelbyville passed from this Earthside life peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends under the amazing care of Compassus Hospice and gained entry to her forever home in Heaven on Easter Sunday April 4, 2021, after a long, hard and incredibly brave fight with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis liver disease.
Connie will forever be remembered for her creativity and talent to make all things Beautiful, as she was a florist and interior decorator for many years before falling ill with her disease.
Those who had the pleasure to meet and know her will not only remember her for her talent to turn trash into treasure or make a Goodwill find look like a million bucks, but also for her sweet, yet sassy demeanor that kept her going and always humble.
Connie is proceeded in death by her father Jerry Cooper, mother Linda Joyce Bates and grandparents George and Nell Holt, all of Shelbyville.
Survivors include her two sons, Spencer and Mason Davis, Step father Larry Bates, father of her children Keith Davis, Brothers Danny Bates, Jamie (Jennifer) Bates, Jerry Cooper of Georgia, sisters Penny Cooper Howard and Tracy Mayo of Indiana, Nieces Jaylenn Bates and Ainsley Mayo, Nephews Jacob Bates, Zachary Cooper, Quinton Mayo and Colin Bowen and one granddaughter, in which she adored, Elayna Shae Davis.
Visitation and Celebration of Life with the family will be held at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel in Shelbyville on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 3-5 p.m., services to start at 5 with Jeff Rasnick officiating. Followed by a sunset burial of her remains at her body’s final resting place here on Earth near her mother at Rose Bank Cemetery in Flat Creek.
Family and friends would like to extend their gratitude to Connie’s longtime friend turned caregiver, Marsha Potts, and her husband Jim for opening their beautiful home for Connie to be surrounded by all that knew and loved her on her final days here with us.
