When submitting press releases or news tips by e-mail, please keep the following in mind:

• Don't use ALL CAPITAL LETTERS, which forces us to retype everything you send. Use normal punctuation whenever possible.

• Send photos in JPEG format if possible. Send the photo and text as separate attachments; do not embed the photo into a Word document.

• Word documents are permissible, but it's even easier if you simply include your text in the body of the e-mail. Please don't send Microsoft Publisher (.PUB) documents.

A birth announcement, with no photo, will be published free of charge within one month after the child is born. Call or visit the T-G news department or complete the form online.

The decorative style of birth announcement (for example, with a baby carriage border) is a paid advertisement. Contact our display advertising department at (931) 684-1200 for rates and availability.

A "Half Pint" is a photo of a young child. It costs $5 to have a "Half Pint" photo published. Stop by the front desk at the Times-Gazette, 323 East Depot St., and ask for a "Half Pint" form and further information.
