  • On a recent night about 9pm, I was started by an eighteen wheeler going the wrong way on the square. He also seemed to be going way too fast. He came up from the unemployment office and just continued straight through the red light and straight across the square the wrong way and then off the square down by the library. I am glad that I stopped at the red light on the corner of the square at Depot Street or he would have hit us.

  • Most small towns that I have driven through in the past years have changed that confusing, around the courthouse trek...could it be that Shelbyville is behind in that also..."just saying"...but then again...I left for 20 yrs, then came back home...and vary little changed....any new or visiting arrivals would surly be confused...we are a couple days late and a dollar short on roads sidewalks and a lot of things around here!....like the paving of blue ribbon pkwy without adding sidewalks or proper draining....so now the end of driveways are eroding and there is beginning to be a path across the front of yards and tire tracks from mail trucks on the curb...oh well...we have what we have I reckon!

  • Yea but coming from South Main if there is a large vehicle parked on the corner in front of Merle Norman you can't see anything and they come flying around the square, I've almost gotten hit twice. I consider it dangerous, but let's wait till somone gets killed or maybe they just like to see how many people can get killed just like at Bell Buckle intersection before they did something.
