This just proves we have fun over at the T-G, every chance we get. Happy Valentine's Day Diandra and Yolanda!
Happy Valentine's Day! We also have sunshine today! That, coupled with free chocolate, makes for a win-win holiday.
The T-G had ice cream and Valentine cookies today. Thanks Diandra for all you do for us! We love you! We also appreciate little Kennedy for her gifts of chocolate bears and frogs also.
So what's your favorite Valentine's day romance film? I think one of mine would have to be “The Mirror Has Two Faces” with Barbra Streisand and Jeff Bridges. There are also cameo appearances by the great Lauren Bacall.
If you haven't seen the movie, I'll give you a hint to make it worth the watch; they play as the final song, “I Finally Found Someone,” by Barbra and Bryan Adams. You have to watch the rest.
Yep, it's a “chick-flick.”
I'm really wanting to see the new movie, “Marriage Story,” starring Scarlett Johansson. I read recently a summary of the film which stated it's a movie about a couple breaking up, but struggling to stay together. That seems at least positive to me. The movie was nominated for several Oscar categories.
If anyone has seen this movie, please let me know a thumbs up or thumbs down. Most people who know me understand I don't like tripping over profanity in my movies. So, let me know what you think if you see it.
I want to wish everyone a very special Valentine's Day. Remember: it's not the card, the flowers or the candy (well, uh, o.k. I can't believe I wrote that) the day should be observed as a way for people to show their love for one another. In all truthfulness, it's really about spending stress-free quality time with those you love.
I was quite impressed when I saw on Facebook that the Shelbyville Central High School Key Club took chocolates to Shelbyville Police Department today. What a great idea! Many of those officers have to work tonight. Pray for them.
If you're single, make a friend. If you're widowed, thank God for the years that you and your loved one spent together. That cannot be changed or broken, unlike a lot of things in this world today.
If you're married, you should still make the day special for your loved one too.
Of course flowers and candy are dandy. So support your local merchants; they've gone all out decorating and stocking for this special day.
Can you believe it? Candy hearts are back! If you can believe it, I have about two or three given to me by my husband many years ago. Is that a good thing that they look the same today as back then? Hmm. Who doesn't love to read the messages.
One thing is for certain and likely to happen to someone today-some spouses just forget this holiday. So young marrieds, just remember to pick your battles.
After so many years of marriage, I can honestly say I'm thankful for hearing the words “I love you” everyday. It means more than anything guys, so stop right now hunting for those cards. Just say it out loud!
Of course the same goes for the gals. Say those three words without hesitation ladies.
Your sunshine for today comes from poet and playwright Oscar Wilde, who once said, “Never love anyone who treats you like you're ordinary.”
In the eyes of God, you weren't made just ordinary. You're extra-ordinary. So, happy heart day!
Let's eat cake!
