  • Reality shows are for a certain breed....I'd rather watch them than the 40 commercials we are bombarded with these days....there's just too many!...and seems they have increased lately....I counted 12 ad spots, 2 of them the same one, just at the 10 min into the show commercial time...took up 6 minuets before returning to the 30 minuet show...there ought a be a law!..We should form the R.A.T.C (revolution, against,to many, commercials).

  • There is absolutely nothing "real" about any of them.

  • We don't really watch much TV anymore. The shows are not family-friendly anymore. The kids and I end up watching older movies and TV shows instead of the garbage that is currently on. So, we give reality shows a huge thumbs down.

  • O occasionally watches "Pickers" and the "Auction Hunter" then there is one about searching with metal detectors but I don't watch that enough to remember the name.

Other than those I don't think I watch any other "reality". They must be cheap to produce which may explain why they survive with low ratings.

  • I don't have to watch "reality" shows. I have enough reality...Give me "Andy Griffith" or "Golden Girls" any day!!!!! Enough of the Kartrashians....

  • While watching a movie recently they shoved in a 15 minute 'infomercial' on how to look like Cindy Crawford, yeah right!!. By the time they returned to the movie I forgot what the plot was..

  • While watching a movie recently they shoved in a 15 minute 'infomercial' on how to look like Cindy Crawford, yeah right!!. By the time they returned to the movie I forgot what the plot was... As for reality I never watch. From what I understand from others, they try to make people from the south look like redneck hillbillys. I take a deep offense to this !!

When I came upon something called honey boo boo, I decided when contract is up it will be time to shut down direct tv forever. As long as we continue to pay them for this garbage they will continue to shovel it our way.

Thank you for a chance to vent, I have been waiting for this.

  • Duck Dynasty is the # 1 rated show of this type.It has more viewers than American Idol,Survivor or any of them.I wonder if its because of the non violence, clean language, and a prayer at the end of the show.Maybe people are starved for this kind of entertainment.I am.

  • We watch a few of the "reality" shows such as River Monsters, My Cat from He.. and some of the paranormal shows.

  • Thanks Steve. I agree with caligal, Andy will always be my favorite. More recently I like 'Raymond', what a mixed up family, reminds me of mine. :)

  • I happened to be surfing and caught the very end of Duck Dynasty. Sure enough, it ended with a prayer. I never knew that.

  • Teen Mom is the PITTS. What parent wants their children to watch this jacked up mess. If I catch any of them on OUR TV... I turn it off! I think it is a shame the way I pay for commercial viewing too! Years ago you paid for cable to AVOID seeing all the commercials... now I think that is all cable is about. The broadcast company has it made. They get paid twice for the commercials. Now the internet is doing the same thing.

  • I hate Housewives of 'Whatever City they can think of Next', when I even hear it is on my IQ drops, I go into another room close the door and read a book.

  • While the popularity of these shows varies greatly, what does it say about our society? Does the European, Russian,Brazilian, Australian, (you name it) family watch these shows as well?

Do we have too much time on our hands or are we using our time too frivolously? I watch a total of four shows on a regular basis, non are reality shows.

After that, I only watch because something my mother-in-law has on catches my eye for a few moments or because I am physically and mentally beat and just plop down to rest. (The physically beat state seems to be occurring more often) :-)

  • I hate them I have very briefly seen Honey boo boo ( shudder) and other such idiocies ... could not give a rats bottom about Kardashians or anyone else that lives a ridiculous lifestyle. About the only show I have seen that i like (slightly) is Duck Dynasty.

Sy is really funny and they remind me of my family in arkansas

  • Now my cat from Hades is pretty good.

  • Cat from Hades?

-- Posted by stevemills on Fri, May 3, 2013, at 7:22 PM
  • I checked out Cat from Hades. Deb and I got a kick out of it and maybe some tips.

Now I see one advertised for pregnant and dating. WHAT! No wonder so many other societies think ours is sick and depraved. At least Hollywood is!
