  • What about the bricks? Are we going to work on them, have they been worked on, or....?

  • Those blankity-blank flea beetles and cold nights have really done a number on my bathtub garden. The plants will survive, but I am concerned about the viability of them now.

Cold shock and weakened by insect attack can cause them to be stunted and I won't know that for a few weeks. If they do not perk up and start showing some life, I may do the unthinkable for me, trash them.

It is usually unthinkable because I like to let everything have a chance to grow, but this bathtub garden is right next to the kitchen door and I put it there so my mother-in-law could easily step out and pick.

I a starting to grind my leftovers from my smoothies and pour them into the soil for in-ground composting. Since most of this soil was premixed potting soil, I think I will gather some worms and place them near the smoothies deposits. Should help all concerned.

  • Anyone want garlic chives? They have escaped my garden beds and I am starting to mow a lawn of chives. Not the kind of smell I like to have after mowing but they taste great in omelets and other dishes.

  • Also can bring cuttings of peppermint, lemon mint, chocolate mint, wooly mint, and catnip. Just need to know ahead of time.

  • I really meant to attend but I dozed off and woke up at 10 just in time to go back to bed.

  • One of our original members did that the meeting before. We are going to have to start a call-list to wake everyone up an hour before meeting.

Honest folks, no one falls asleep at the meeting! In fact, this last one lasted until about 9:15 which is probably close to a record.
