A frozen-over goldfish pond should motivate you to start thinking about gardening, right?
Almost time. But I bet you there are some of us who push the envelope on getting the earliest harvest and for them the first of February could be the start date for plants started inside.
Of course, to do that you need a greenhouse or an artificially lighted seed starting area inside your home. My brother has his in the cellar and leaves the lights up all year long so all he has to do is prepare the planting medium.
If you use florescent bulbs, the lights or the trays need to be adjustable so you can keep the plant tops just below the lights. Without it your plants will get leggy (tall and skinny) and plant health will suffer.
Anyway, the organizational meeting for Weed'em and Reap needs to take place within the next few weekends.
So we can have a bit more structure, develop meeting topics, get volunteers to spearhead the chosen topics, and a announce them two weeks or more ahead of time (maybe even a calendar. Also we need to determine how many times we will meet, and where.
There is more but maybe someone wants to throw out some ideas? Seeding, soil, site location, ??????
