Winter sown jugs (not mine)
For me, it will start with some winter sowing experiments. Winter sowing is not an experiment to many it is a proven method to get their early plants seeded and growing for the season.
It is also not new to many in our local area. Ruby and her son John from Normandy have been doing it for several years and actually have a sort of competition going with Tom from the Beech Grove area.
Together they set up hundreds of translucent or clear plastic jugs to plant their seeds in before they put them outside in a sunny/part shaded area to let the seeds emerge as Mother Nature dictates.
Search for winter sowing on the web and you get a wide selection of choices to learn more, join groups or just sit back and read. Or, you can go here and click on their links. http://www.wintersown.org/
There are 'sow' many good articles with pictures on how to do it, there is no need to say it here, but keep in mind that some of discussing details for different climates that we have here, so if they say place them in full sun, they are probably up North. Our late Winter sun could end up sterilizing your soil and seeds so that is why I mentioned "part shade".
There are also different methods for low maintenance, etc. I suggest you join this Facebook group, https://www.facebook.com/groups/64785223352/ or if you do not want to "do" FB, ask me here and I will get your localized opinion.
