  • Victoria's passing has stimulated me to change my Pandora channel to 60's Folk. It is amazing how many popular songs in the late 60's and 70's started out as folk songs. Makes me wonder how far back some of these songs really go.

  • I have appreciated her ability for many years and have her first album some where in my extensive collection of LP's. God bless and RIP Victoria.

  • Do you happen to remember the name of that first album? Was it under her maiden name or with Pat Garvey?

    How is the garden going?

  • The Label was San Francisco Records. It did not do well so Capitol Records re-released it on their loss leader series to jinn up support. If I'm not mistaken, the album was called Secret of the Bloom featuring Victoria. That was also the title song. And so far garden is doing good.Okra, onions, cucumbers and maters.

  • My mistake. It was Atlantic records and her original name was Victoria Domalgoski.

  • Pretty sure this was a different Victoria cherokee2. The Victoria to whom you refer seems to be part of a puzzle others are trying to solve.

She made two or three albums and then seems to have disappeared, but comparing pictures I am pretty sure they are two separate ladies.

  • Victoria's husband Don posted on my other post from 2010:

Victoria actually succumbed to a recurrence of colon cancer that returned after five years. There will be a memorial for her here in Tucson on Sunday, June 15, and one at Caffe Lena http://www.caffelena.org/ (our favorite place to play) in Saratoga Springs, NY on Monday, Sept. 8.

We had almost completed a new CD, which should be available by summer's end, along with a reissue of both Mr. & Mrs. Garvey (now entitled "Bon Voyage, Miss Tischhauser") and Songs: 1965 - 1971, both on CD.
