  • I was late getting the announcement to the paper (Wednesday) so today might be the only announcement in the paper. Let others know if you think the paper is all they have?

  • If you are like many of us and planted your tomatoes and other warm weather plants, watch them for any damage from these cool nights. Even if you have not had a true frost, the cold temps can stunt their growth.

Most will recover if there are good healthy leaves but they may be slow. Also, remove the wilted or yellowed leaves so that they do not give disease an opportunity to take hold.

I usually just pinch them off, but know some who will cut them off with scissors that are dipped in alcohol when moving to another plant in order to avoid any transmission of disease between plants.

  • Whoosh, when the sun was out it wasn't bad but the clouds and wind sure brought goosebumps today.

    See EVERYONE tonight??

  • Pleasant time and good food. Next meeting will be three weeks away, June 6th.

We plan to have another speaker from the Rutherford County Master Gardeners program. The topic will be Organic Growing.

  • I really enjoyed those fish tacos, but the conversation and company for a pleasant evening were even better...I do agree though, they could have put a cherry on my dessert, but its all good even without it...I think we all must have been hungry there weren't many take home boxes those plentiful servings, did anyone else notice how full with meat the tacos were?...amazing evening for sure, glad I was there.

  • chefgrape I was watching our birds jump on the refilled feeders just now and it brought me back to you logistics issue of getting your bird feeders up. If you have a ladder, I could stop by this afternoon when we make our run for more CAT FOOD.

    Let me know?
