Susie and CT enjoying the love. Susie is the calico on the left.
Susie was with us 23 years, but life finally took its' course and we had to say goodbye. We adopted her 23 years ago when she hitched a ride with one friends while we had Miss Jeanne's Ice Cream & Gifts in Bell Buckle.
We had adopted her sister already and I guess she thought it was only right that we adopt her too, so one day she rode on our friend's car and our daughter found her outside our business. She is the last cat that we intentionally adopted. All the rest have not given us much choice.
You can imagine that in 23 years she has seen many cats and dogs come and go from our home, but she always seemed to get along with all of them. Even our 10 week old kitten, Wendy.
Wendy snuggled up to Susie when no one else would have anything to do with her. They would both lick each other and we knew we could count on Susie to accept her, unless Wendy was biting her tail too hard. :-)
As to be expected now, PITA came with me to our pet graveyard and paid her respects. When I dug her resting place yesterday, PITA was not interested, but she knew we were filling the space today and she was there without my asking.
Now, if I can just keep that in mind when she tips over my plants or carries a cat pillow outside in the pouring rain.
