  • I do not see this recipe saying to peel the squash first and the picture seems to show the outside edge, so I think I like this even more.

Let the person eating it separate it, like acorn squash. I LIKE that! :-)

  • This must be squash week, I had a butternut squash on my counter for a month and finally decided to give it a go. Well, I was disappointed to say the least because it was tasteless. I also didn't peel it and ate it out of its skin.

I would have squash swapped with you...I cooked that homegrown banana squash you had given me this past summer and it was so much better than last years crop of store bought squash. If I remember correctly it was full of flavor.

By the pound at the store they sure can get quite pricey! I think at the size of banana squash it would cost maybe 20 of so, but could feed the whole town!

  • Haven't ever tried a Cushaw, you should have saved me a bite espoontoon...no worries though, I have seeds from one somebody cut open that night Steve brought them all. I might just try my luck at planting one as soon as this winter blast gets done!

23 days til spring...are ya'll ready, set, grow?

  • I have one cushaw to go. Will save the seed but I hoke they don't cross with banana squash. Both grew in same area.

    Any favorite recipe espoontoon?

  • Not really. I usually slice it thin and put it on a pizza.

Adding to one of your other topics...I just checked the Weather Channel forecast for Shelbyville and the high says 43...TG online says high of 34. At least both had the same current temp and forecast of snow.Blech.

Spring, if we get that Season this year, can't come fast enough...

  • Pizza would not have crossed my mind. Interesting!

Yesssss, I am ready to change the season! I was thinking it was not bad with some mild streaks in between cold but these last two weeks have pushed me over the top.
