  • Ooooh, what a beautiful morning! If you can get out. it will really be worth your while. (That is, if you like being out, of course)

When I fed the garage cats I could not help but think back on last night's feeding. There is one young opossum that I believe has grown up with the kittens and it almost rubbed up on my legs last night like the cats do.

It might have done it, if I had not stepped back a bit and turned down the offer. I'm not sure if they do this on a regular basis and did not want to get a "love bite". :-)

It ate with all of them at their bowls and one kitten was even playing with opossum's tail. O kept turning and shooing it away, but never a growl or teeth. Am I flirting with fire?

Here is another animal story. We adopted another small dog our daughter asked us to take care of that she found neglected on the streets of Nashville. Baby Pooch is a great inside dog and seems to fit in well with the cats.

So well that when she saw we were occupied with taking care of Mrs. Lee early this morning, she did not bother us to let her out for a potty break, she just jumped in one of the litter boxes and took care of business. Good doggy.

  • Remember our hummers! They are on their loooong journey back to the Gulf and beyond and need as much energy as they can get.

As I changed one feeder out this morning a butterfly did not want to give it up. This particular one was just being moved so a full one could take its' place in better view of our kitchen.

The butterfly was still there as I headed back in.

My garden, like most of us, got totally soaked this past week!...slowly but surly its growing....I'll have a record strawberry crop next year...I gotta get that pine straw on them though...the feeler sprouts have almost made it to my bamboo trellis!

  • Ewww is right, and from a Chef? Nah, we saw the end result. We don't want her getting used to it, but in a pinch, good girl.

Just looked up to see mother and fawn exiting the front yard. They're early today but I am glad they feel safe here.

  • I did not realize that either, but I have a niece in town plus our daughter is taking us to dinner, so it might not work for me either.

  • Must have eaten something wrong. The way I am feeling yesterday and today, I would not be eating anything anyway. Weight loss time!

  • Dinner was great...I got stuffed!...all together there were only a few with all that's going on in town and throughout the county.

Thanks to Ms. Sands...It was our pleasure meeting you and hope to see you again!...Hopefully your old friends and us new ones will get to enjoy you some more, and can help to resolve you fruit tree dilemmas.
