No muss, no fuss. Grown by nature and pretty as well.
Our next meeting for the Weed'em & Reap garden club will be at the UT Ag Extension office 2105 Midland Rd. Shelbyville, TN 37160 starting at 6:30 PM on Friday October 9th.
Some of us are trying to handle what we've grown, others are scratching their heads about why their garden did not grow, some are in the middle of Fall gardening and others starting to get ready for next season. Where are you?
PITA decided that my Fall garden sprouts needed thinning, so while I was harvesting Lima beans, she was rolling around the new bed, "firming" the soil around those sprouts that survived. It's all in how you look at it. :-)
Usually at this time I am gearing up for serious wood cutting but I am hanging up my chainsaw. Well, almost. I will still get some use out of it but not for heating the house.
Why? Well ...., as I was cleaning the furnace up for another season and replacing the fire brick, I noticed some cracking on metal plates along the sides and back. Replacing these will be much more than I planned on so the furnace is being retired along with the chainsaw.
The money spent on a new furnace will pay for 6 years or more of extra gas bills so.... my body said, "It is time".
