  • You know the old adage: "If it bleeds, it leads." That makes a downer for the rest of the news. And in place of interesting happenings, we get the "happy news", most of which isn't worth the airtime.

  • Happy News is worth my time. This bad, sad, horrifying news has a way of adding up in my system.

Why didn't you just tell us that you like to keep your head in the sand?

Did you know that protesting a Candidate running for president is a Federal Crime punishable by 1 year in prison and if you have a knife or weapon on you you could get 10 years in prison?

How many protester do you think would actually protest for Bernie Sanders or the MoveOn.com or Black Lives Matter Movement if they knew that?

The funniest thing about it was that Barrack Obama passed the HR347 bill into law.

    18 U.S. Code 1752 - Restricted building or grounds.

It states that anywhere Secret Service is or WILL be, that property is considered Government property and ANY Protester could be arrested for interrupting any person speaking who has Secret Service protecting them. They don't even have to be violent, just interfere or prevent people from listening to the speaker.

If they knew that by running their mouths at a Protest, they could be sitting in a Federal prison for 1 full year of 365 days and 365 nights, WHILE all their friends and the people they were protesting for are out walking around and enjoying the freedom of doing whatever they like and sleeping in a nice comfortable bed at night - - I think they would not protest any more.

Now that would be a nice thought, if only they knew, by watching the news that is going on in the rest of the nation.

  • See! It is even dangerous to read my own blog! I am not so sure it is burying my head in that sand but instead to be ON the sandy beach, without the news. I would not have to bury the old head that way and can breath easier.

I bet with a little thought, we could write the national news the day before and be 95% accurate. I had to unplug a gardener friend until after the elections because I could bet on getting 4, 5 or more Trump updates each day. ENOUGH!

  • By "Happy", I meant cute, cute; nothing of substance. I'm all for happy news

    Steve,

I have always said that if the news media never reported all the bad things that are going on in the nation and world, we would all be blind to what other people were doing. We wouldn't know about many of the sick crimes that happen and the torture people go through...

UNTIL one day it comes to your town. You wouldn't know what hit you. It would all happen over night and it would be too late to prevent it from happening.

Just read about human trafficing arrests in and around this county in the Times Gazette. It has been going on for years right here in Bedford and surrounded counties.

All of a sudden it makes the news - AFTER several lives have been taken away from our young people.

It's like the old saying, "Time Flies when your having fun!" I'm at the age now where the time needs to slow down a little, lol.

Sorry if I came on too strong for you Steve.

The beaches have their drawbacks too. Been there done that. The Mosquitoes are real bad in the evening on the east coast beaches. Makes the beaches undesireable to stay around very long at night. Sun gets very hot during the day with no shade around and the water makes it boiling hot on your skin, until your tender body get use to the sun.

Have you ever stood on the ege of the water and let the waves come in around your feet? You can feel and see your feet actually sinking in the sand as the water goes out again.

Mmmm, the good ol days when a kid didn't have a care in the world!

  • It is not illegal to protest a candidate (You know the Right To Free Speech Thing), but you can be arrested for trespassing in a restricted area. https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/112/hr347/text/enr
