  • Are the other religions (ALL) not strong enough to provide their desire to be remembered for doing GOOD?

-- Posted by stevemills on Tue, Mar 22, 2016, at 8:28 AM
  • You have to remember, that in their eyes they are doing good. Most religions/belief systems believe that their way is the one true way. So, when you have people who are lost and are looking to "fit in" or they have given up and are numb to the world, any violent group/gang or what have you can reel them in. The war among the 2 religions (Christinity & Islam) is something that will continue on for generations until the time that they both fade out.

  • Why do the religions (in today's world) feel the need to make war on each other?

Is there a extremist form of Christianity that is bent on killing Muslims? That needs to stop that a well.

  • Not all religions are bent on converting or destroying the world/people. There are extremes in most of the mainstream religions. I do agree that it does need to be stopped. People need to allow others to choose to believe or not believe in any certain deity that they want. What does it matter if one wants to believe in the Spaghetti Monster, Kali, Brigid or the Holy Trinity? If one wants to take a religious journey, they will seek it out. There is no need to force religion upon anyone.

  • Steve an excellent point on the media giving notoriety to these folks. For the muslim terrorists, I don't think this is a driving factor, but maybe a smaller part of it, since terrorism cannot work unless people are terrorized. They can only do that if they have knowledge of the event, and know who they're supposed to fear.

I do believe this is a major factor for the various nuts doing the mass shootings domestically, especially the younger ones. Several made manifestos saying they were lashing out over being ignored/mistreated and wanted to be remembered.

In the future the press should only refer to them as a "pathetic anonymous loser".

  • 29 But as then he that was born after the flesh (Ismael) (Islam) persecuted him that was born after the Spirit (Isaac) (Christian), even so it is now.

But.... as it is now, even so it was then.

  • After these murderers live in Europe or the U.S. you would think the freedoms they have seen would easily convince them and wise them up in a major way compared to where most of them came from.

The hate in their minds and hearts seem to still convince them it's the right thing to do to kill and as many as they can, so, I don't get it!

I am beginning to think there are higher principalities and powers at work in the minds and souls of those who have this hatemonger mindset.

They are "possessed" to put it mildly! If others have been kind to them and given them freedoms in daily living, they work eat and interact with their environment and yet they still want to kill you! I just don't get it!

There is some kind of "evil" working in the heart of man!

  • Hate is the issue, and it seems at one time or another some religions attempt to use hate in order to enforce their particular point of view, mostly out of unreasonable fear of those who are deemed to be "different". In America, we have had the Salem witch hunts, the persecutions of Native Americans, the Japanese, Blacks, Hispanics, etc, etc. At one time in the past people who called themselves Christians slaughtered those who they declared to be non-Christian or heretics. Hate is the problem. Love, compassion and understanding is the solution. However, God only knows when or if humanity itself will ever figure it out.

The reason terrorists are so good at recruiting is not because of press notoriety. It is because so many of the muslims are taking the koran literally. They are just doing what mohamed told them to do. We will never be totally rid of this problem as long as muslims exist. In a way it is because of hate. If the muslims can't convert everyone to their warped way of thinking then they hate us and think they have the RIGHT to kill us. No non-muslim is safe as long as muslims are around.

  • With statements like that FS, would they be safe in assuming Christians are out to get them as well?

Devout Christians say the Bible is NOT up to interpretation, but it is every day. If not, why do we have a King James version a Catholic version, an orthodox Russian version, etc.

Are there not different Christian denominations? Do they not exist because of a difference in interpretations?

Likewise I am sure, there are disagreements on the interpretation of Islam. The militants don't seem to tolerate that disagreement. It is THEIR way or death, even for other Muslims.

No, Steve. Christians are not " out to get the muslims". Only the ones that want to kill us. And as long as there are muslims that believe the koran for what it actually says then we are at risk. At least if we don't tell them that we believe some goat-f-er in the 700s flew in the sky on a donkey or a magic carpet or whatever.

Sure, there are different versions of the Bible. Translated at different times by different people. And some people have different interpretations of what it says. No one that has any common sense would tell you that the Bible says we should be killing those that don't believe it. On the other hand, we should be trying to teach them what is right.

As far as interpretation of the koran(islam), the militants/radicals/true believers/whatever you want to call them have it right. If they can't convert us then they should kill us or make us slaves or sell us for ransom. I really don't see the problem so many people have with trying to protect ourselves from this.

If you read the old testament, you will read stories of God destroying every last man woman and child who worshiped other gods.

God instructed Moses to kill every living soul, man, woman and child AND Animal of civilizations or nations, who worshiped other gods, as they wondered in the wilderness advancing to the promise land.

God even allowed the Jews to be defeated and captured when they turned away from God.

Isn't that what Daesh or Isis doing? They are killing every man and child and the women too when they are tired of them or if they can't sell them.

I even read a story were the Isis fighters had to retreat and leave a city. Before they left the city, they murdered every woman they had as wives because they couldn't take them with them and were not going to leave them to marry infidels.

Now in our Christian Religion, we read that the Son of God came and changed all that. We no longer had to kill others but search for salvation for ourselves and forgive others.

The Koran doesn't include a forgiving God and what I understand a lot of the Jews do not believe a Saviour was born to take away all our sins. They live by the old testament and not the new testament.

So here we see the difference between Isis and Christians. We believe if you are not a Christian you are anti-christ. Or so that is what the Christian bible tells us.

We Christians don't go out and kill the anti-christs.

However, the Daesh do. They think Americans are all evil people.

Look at all the Sin going on in this country from New York City to Las Vegas to California and all cities in between. I can see how they judge us as an UnChristian People. Look at the decline in Church goers in this country!

Americans, Christians or not, have to look at all the crimes that Isis is doing across the globe. We have to protect our lives from this evil. We can no longer protect the Christian Monuments and Tourist Attractions because President Obama has stayed away from Isis and allowed them to destroy ever Religious monument and including Christians alike that they come to.

It is going to continue this way as long as Obama or Hillary Clinton is in office.

The Islam Religion is a Government that uses Sharia law in their courts. Now if Islam is the Religion, then a Muslim is a person who lives by the Islam religion and Islam law or Sharia Law. This is against our Constitution.

If the Islam Religion is so great, why do the Muslims want to come to The United States of Infidels of America to live? Don't they know us infidels will kill them if they try to behead us.

We need a Leader who will stop them in their tracks and "GENOCIDE all of them" in the middle East, Europe, Africa and everywhere else they are. All we hear is we need Muslims to fight them. Muslim won't fight them. They all throw their hands up, give their weapons to the enemy and get killed by Isis and their women killed or taken as wives or sex slaves.

This is a job for our United States Military Fighting Forces. Our Armed Services are trained every day to fight these people and Win.

We just have to wait until someone who is a Leader becomes the new Commander in Chief and it isn't Hillary Clinton nor Teddybear Cruz.

One last thought! I am not talking about U.S. Citizens! I am talking about Islam Radical Muslims. There is a difference for all you Brain Dead Idiots.

  • Sui, your logic is the same as that of ISIS, "We need a Leader who will stop them in their tracks and "GENOCIDE all of them" _" You are calling for their deaths because they are not following your extremist religious beliefs. You may not be strapping a bomb to yourself, but your calling for their deaths the same way their extremist are calling for ours. Most people of both religions are peace loving and non violent, it is only the extreme nuts in them calling for killing. Considering the multi millions of Muslims in the world if they as a whole were to want us dead we would be dead. Thank God for people like President Obama and Hillary who would not call for Genocide, who do not act through hate but rather will strive for the most peaceful possible solution first, placing war as a last resort. Yes we need to be able to go to war should we need to, but we must also respect the lives of our troops enough to not waste their lives when solutions could be found that did not include their deaths. Every attempt to save lives should be considered first. We do not live in a third world war mongering nation. Should we ever slither to third world evil standards, then we would be no better that the folks you want destroyed. America is a leader because she is above the horrors, she does not sink to those levels. Sadly we have those like you who have no problem wishing death to those who do not fit your tiny little opinion of worthiness..... You say you are not talking about U.S Citizens, but Im sure you say that to cover your butt, i would bet a pretty penny your call for Genocide would not be called off for an American Muslim, ( it is a religion after all not a nationality) I would guess you would have no problem throwing different folks in camps if they did not fit the prototypical political standards the tea party minions are telling you to hate.....

America was not founded on religious hate, people came here to get away from that.

  • Steve, I think your right about not publicizing the acts of terrorist and giving them notoriety.. It seems the more we see and hear of it the more people are jumping on the band wagon looking for their chance to be noticed. It also plants ideas into heads that would not have ever imagined such things. It is just short of advertising these evils when they get reported on non stop day in and day out. People see and hear so much of it that it seems almost normal and expected instead of shocking and abnormal. We wake and wonder who killed who today, what was blown up by who....

WHile we need to know the events happening in the world , we do not need such detailed accounts that lead others to mimic or join in the horrors.

-- Posted by wonderwhy on Fri, Apr 1, 2016, at 2:23 AM
  • Terrorists, not just Islamic one, want to put fear and bring attention to their cause. If they got little attention, why would someone want to blow themselves up?

If some person who feels their life is not worth living wants to make one last statement as they leave their life, they count on publicity and that is achieved through press coverage.

I guess one thing that would add or subtract from this theory would be to know how many mass murders, or suicide attacks events occurred before national news coverage, before TV or the internet and compare it to now.

What would be a good date to use?

Wanderinghi, you do realize that the muslims have declared war on us and want to kill us, don't you? I know not all muslims want to but the ones that believe the koran do. What you call moderate muslims don't follow the koran.

  • If Trump wins we will be a third world war mongering nation.Let's put Trumps sons on the front line. If there is ever a draft he will keep them home like his father's money did for him.

He is already talking about concentration camps, jailing women who have abortions after its been made legal and arresting people of different religions. This is not American.

We will be mongering the Third World War? Or did you mean we will be a third world nation and a war-mongering nation? lest i be real, if you ever have more than 1 original thought, I would be happy to teach you how to put them together so others can understand you.
