  • I've been in Bell Buckle since early Thursday morning enjoying all the festivities of a friend getting married this weekend. Rain!...you have had some today for sure!...Thursday and Friday it was in spurts and pretty intense a few times usually resulting in a steam bath when sitting on a back porch over yonder!

Got home this afternoon and my little patch of garden happiness looked like it had gotten a real good soaking, so that's a good thing...I won't have to sit out there with the hose pipe!...I will later in the week though...the report is clear of rain the rest of the week what little of the weather report I saw this morning.

  • Yesterday there were puddles in Bell Buckle but nothing on our hill. The nature of local showers I'm afraid but today we've got several bursts.

I may just think about more planting.

Got some extra black cherry tomatoes and maybe a few Rutgers. Also some mints. The apple/furry mint did not root in the water, it rotted so I have some in soil and we'll see how that goes.

I'm going to hold back the eggplants until I see if I get some plants strong enough to with stand the flea beetles. Right now they are all in the greenhouse.

  • Confirmed the room is reserved for us a few minutes ago, so..... see you there!

In addition to the tomatoes and mints, I potted up a few hot peppers that SHOULD be poinsettia pepper. I say "should because they are growing underneath a poinsettia pepper that was overwintered but they were not separated from other hot peppers so it could be an unintentional hybrid. Maybe better?

I'm only bringing 4 of those so if it raises your taste-bud temps, better speak up early. Google poinsettia peppers and see the pretty pictures. :-)

  • With the rain came the weeds, but I am NOT complaining. I would rather pull weeds than look at empty garden space.

While there I noticed that I won't need any more tomatoes. I've got volunteers all over the place. Of course, I'm not sure what they will be since they are in an area that had a lot of varieties given to me, so..... surprise, surprise.

  • If anyone has digital pictures of their plants, gardens or something of gardening interest, bring it along tonight. We'll be bouncing around on topics.

And I'll bring the extra plants mentioned above.
