Cute cats and I'm glad they are doing well. They sure can be a handful to keep up with at this age, and this early on it can be hard to tell if they are a he or a she.

  • Both Grahmi at Snowflake have voted on a new milk replacement bought at WalMart. Thumbs down. Costs about the same as the cans we get at the vet but they must not like the taste and it does not fill them up.

I am adding some powered milk supplement to what we have and getting more cans tomorrow. I may check to see if there is a case price since we just added a new kitten to our crew and I saw another white one out there last night.

That one's eyes looked good so it may be healthy but the way things are going with this batch, I almost brought it in anyway.

They have probably got word around the neighborhood about where to go to eat. But cats are God's children too. Glad they are surviving.

  • Is the cost of the kitten supplement less or more than human formula? Have you considered using that as a substitute ? The only supplements I have had experience with has been goat colostrum ( very, very rich ) and parrot formula...Yesterday read that human is so much richer than any other...Hard to believe it is richer than the goats.......More complex perhaps......

  • I'll compare ingredients when we go to the store.

You know , Steve, I have seen a lot of ugly things in my life. But I have never seen an ugly kitten! Only cute ones. And Snowflake and Grahmi are among the cutest.

  • Snowflake and our new rescue "Sissy" are going in to the vet this morning.Snowflake has persistent constipation for which I need professional advice and Sissy is going downhill. I need to see if there is anything that can be done to save her.

    Good luck to Sissy.

  • Snowflake was big time constipated, but other than that, seems to be doing well. It is OK for me to slip her .1 cc of milk of magnesia in her bottle and increase it if necessary.

Sissy is not doing as well. We hydrated her but nothing more we can do according to vet. Neither he nor I expect her to pull through.

  • Thanks fair share. I did not see your well wishes until I posted the update.

  • Sissy did not make it.

Shortly after I wrote the last post she started making noises that I knew were not good. I held and petted her until she was gone. Sad ending but on the brighter side, we saved two.
