On my lap
The epidemic continues folks so any one who would like to adopt these guys PLEASE step forward. We have at least 10 new kittens of multi colors outside and I am not sure if the moms are starting to push them off on us.
I can handle it if they are mostly weaned and potty trained, but I am not sure they are there yet. A few will "walk into" the food dish and come up with food-face, but I am not convinced so I bring them milk formula.
The mothers keep relocating the brood closer to the door so I think they are trying to give me the big HINT. That means I have to have room in the house so Graham and Dusty need to find a new home. PLEASE?
I am looking into a cat birth control (Megestrol Acetate) that hopefully will give us a break of several months to get the females fixed. Right now catching them seems to keep coming up with those who are nursing and I am not going to give them more reason to dump their babies on us, nor do I know where they all are, so....
As soon as I know the existing babies are old enough to live with Mom, I will capture, fix and release.
It used to go by a brand name but disappeared. Actually approved by the FDA since the '50s but has disappeared for some reason.
It is not a permanent fix, just a monthly birth control to give feral cats until they can be caught and neutered.
Anyone know of this product?
