  • Have you tried a GoFundMe account?

  • Had not thought about that Tyger. I'll check it out, but I thought that was for businesses.

Of course, we have a separate ebay identity just for their support so...... maybe?

  • Not just for businesses; just about anything or anybody. Up here, we had ones created for a paralyzed police officer. I've seen some that gathered funds for things that one wouldn't have thought would attract attention. I've also seen frivolous things; one guy tried to finance a two-week vacation in Fiji!

  • I'm intrigued. Maybe if folks can't help us with adopting physically, they can adopt virtually.

After the initial expense I mentioned, we then have vet visits, medicine and I'm about to renovate a big wood box our daughter got for us to make another housing unit.

20+ live in the garage but another 10+ live in mini caves in the woods. I have a BIG doghouse I built for some of our dogs years ago and now re-purposed to a house for them, but they seem to only be able to handle 6+- before it gets crowded to them.

I could build some shelves/cubbyholes to help give them some private space, then retrofit that big box into another condo that is easy to clean. Maybe another 6+ there.

They don't need it most of the time, just inclement weather, house a litter box and keep water from freezing in the winter.

  • Back when I had my barn cats (the most I had at one time was 21.) I had these electrically-heated water pans. I placed them on pieces of 1" foam insulation.

  • Taken your advice Tyger and opened a gofundme account. Anyone wanting to know about it can write to me for more details but I cannot post that info here.

I've also opened a Facebook page to keep folks updated on everyone's progress, a domain name for a future blog and a eBay store by the same name to help with expenses.

We let it eat into our savings way too much. Thanks for the suggestion Tyger, we'll

    see how it goes.

  • What's the name of the GoFundMe account?

  • Since these are Bell Buckle's cats perhaps you could post a notice in the PO regarding your Go Fund Me Account so the people who donated the lovely cats to you can help out.......

  • LOL I wish it could work out that way. We've had pictures on the PO wall. (Mine included) They never caught me and no one ever called, but it is always worth a try.

  • If you find a place that needs cats, let me know will ya? My husband and I are caring for 20ish strays/ferals at the moment. Just caught a litter of 4 who, fortunately, have placement with a rescue once we tame them and their mama gets spayed next week. No more kittens 'round here but we rent and do not intend to stay here forever so would like to find homes or other placement for the adults we've been able to socialize.
