  • Obama/Clinton Reset Button ?

-- Posted by Palindrome on Mon, Oct 10, 2016, at 3:47 PM
  • When Clinton was Secretary of State she brought a "reset" button to the Russion ambassador to signify an effort to reset US/Russia relations. Did not work out well but maybe it could work here.

  • I completely agree Steve. I wish we could throw out both of the current candidates and start over.

Personally, I think God is giving us, as a nation, what we asked for, Godlessness, and the immorality that goes with it.

  • Recording people depends on what state you're in. In some states only one of the people being recorded has to know, usually the one recording. I think that there are different rules for taping non-government "phone" calls

Yes Steve WE have allowed it. Who can WE blame.

  • Steve, I have a comment on the permission needed to tape private conversations... Trump had given it. He was "miked." This is not like having some hidden microphone picking up your conversation, someone runs wires through your clothes, and attaches a microphone somewhere around your collar or shirt pocket. A small battery pack hangs elsewhere. Periodically, when you dislodge some part of the apparatus, they will return and fix it all back.

I have been "miked" a lot in recent years, and sometimes have worn them all day long for several days in a row. They do not record continuously due to limitations on battery life, and generally you know when the thing is actually running, but only because of what is going on at the time, not because you can feel a difference when it is on. Still, I would consider myself an idiot to make any statements while "miked" that I would not want my mother to hear.... as a courtesy, if someone comes up that might not know I am "miked" I inform them. When you allow yourself to be "miked," you are giving permission to record whatever you say. If I need to have a conversation that should not be recorded, I request that the mic be temporarily removed.

  • I have come to the conclusion to vote for the one who scares me the lest. It isn't even a lesser of the two evils any more.

-- Posted by Dianatn on Tue, Oct 11, 2016, at 11:14 AM
  • Dianatn I agree and I can't EVER recall being out in such a position, although the last one was disappointing, it had little of this crap going on now.

-- Posted by stevemills on Wed, Oct 12, 2016, at 8:44 AM
  • Regarding the recording of private conversations, do you remember when the activities and conversations of Planned Parenthood were recorded and the people that did the recording were drug through the mud by the media and the Democrats? But now that a secret recording has come out against Trump they think secretly recording someone is great!

-- Posted by Rodney Simmons on Thu, Oct 13, 2016, at 9:56 AM
  • Trump knew he had a mic on.What about the comments from the Miss Teenage Pageant contestants, some only 14 at the time, about him coming into their dressing room to"inspect them" while naked, then bragging about this on Howard Stern. Would you feel this way if one of them was your daughter? When trump lied at the debate about not groping women that is what brought these women out. I am sure there are many more women in recent years that will come out, this type of behavior doesn't just stop. There is even a tape of him looking at a 10 year old little girl and stating I will be dating here in 10 years.Trump is not only a pervert he is a pedophile. How is he going to spin all this.Where is his proof today that all these accusations were false,he has none

-- Posted by lets be real on Thu, Oct 13, 2016, at 1:55 PM
  • Rodney; 1) He was not secretly recorded. He said these things fully aware he was wearing a microphone, and 2) the tapes were not cut and spliced to make them sound like he was saying something different than what he actually said... there was no need.

  • And yet Trump does not scare me nearly as much as Clinton does

-- Posted by Dianatn on Thu, Oct 13, 2016, at 10:51 PM
  • Laz, the PP videos weren't spliced to alter relevant content either. The cut out bathroom breaks and other useless recordings.

"Coalfire, one of the country's most trusted digital forensic analysis companies, released a report indicating the undercover videos recorded by the Center for Medical Progress are 'authentic and show no evidence of manipulation.'

Forensic analysts were granted access to all of the raw investigated footage recorded by the Center for Medical Progress and checked it against the full length videos posted on the CMP YouTube account. They found the only events not depicted in the publicly available videos fell into five common categories: commuting, waiting, adjusting recording equipment, meals, and restroom breaks. All of the edited content was 'non-pertinent' to the actual investigation."

  • "And yet Trump does not scare me nearly as much as Clinton does"

That is the part that puzzles me. Now, I take it as a given that anyone who reaches that level of politics has some skeletons in their closet. However, no one has been more thoroughly vetted than the Clintons. 23 investigations by their political enemies have yet to uncover anything to prosecute. 30 years of publicly released Tax Returns have yielded nothing. And it is not for lack of trying. Now, the unfettered internet is filled with wild accusations, some of them (frankly) laughable. But, the truth is, if there is anyone in America who has been thoroughly scrutinized, it is the Clintons. That doesn't make me a fan, just a realist.

Now, a year ago, if you had told me there was a situation where I would vote for H. Clinton, I would have laughed at you. But, this is why you never should say never. I don't need anyone to tell me what the issues are with Trump... I don't figure in his morality, as I am not voting for someone to be a guest in my home or date my daughter. But, his lack of knowledge and immature behavior makes him absolutely unfit to function as a President. It is the job of the conservatives in congress to serve as a governor over what the President actually does, assuming we elect competent people, not just whiners and complainers. But we have to have someone who is fit to be in office. Clinton does not scare me, Trump would be a disaster. (A real disaster, not a pretend like disaster like we have now)

-- Posted by lazarus on Fri, Oct 14, 2016, at 8:21 AM
  • At this point "What difference does it make" isn't that Hillary's thinks. That my friend is a disaster .. she has been proven corrupt her entire career but because she is a Clinton and so many Republicans are in her pocket she gets a free pass. They all know they have made millions by her corruption and if she goes down so do they. And let me assure you this corruption leads all the way to the oval office. Obama's own words a few short years ago that she was Vile and incompetent, not to be trusted. Now all of a sudden she is the best thing since sliced bread.

  • What should scare americans is how the Trump campaign knows the hacked information from Russia before it is leaked.Remember Roger Stone comment that Podesta would be next.If Trump wins hacking will be legal, sexual assault will be legal, the press will be silenced and political opponents will be jailed.Who does this remind anyone of? Trump said yesterday "he alone would take us to heaven".He thinks he is God and stated "I have never had to ask for forgivness".That alone should scare Americans.

What scares me is the combined number of left-tards and people too stupid to use their brain pretending to be normal that we have running around in this country. It has gotten to the point where those that can see and understand all the evidence Comey laid out of slick hilly's crimes then believe him when he says she shouldn't be charged because she didn't really mean to do it, these people probably really do need the guvment to wipe their nose and powder their butt. It gets more scary when you realize the Republicans are almost as bad as the Dumercrats. That is why we need someone to shake up D C. But that is unlikely to happen since most people seem way more concerned about what Trump said years ago and unsubstantiated coordinated claims from decades ago than they are about decades of Clinton corruption. People who vote for slick hilly are going to get exactly what they deserve. Unfortunately, I and millions of others will undeservedly get the same crap.

On the brighter side, has anyone noticed sick hilly doesn't seem to cough nearly as much lately? She probably hacked up her hairball.

  • Proven corrupt and called corrupt are different things. Saying something a million times does not make it true.

-- Posted by lazarus on Fri, Oct 14, 2016, at 12:08 PM
  • It is hard to prove corruption when you refuse to open your eyes

-- Posted by Dianatn on Fri, Oct 14, 2016, at 12:20 PM
  • Miss Diana, I am not sure what you mean. There have been 23 investigations by her political enemies, which have netted zero proof of corruption. Without proof, all you have are allegations. That is not a matter of having my eyes open, just my brain.

Which side is really different? Fare Share pooh poohs all the past indiscretions of which Trump is accused, but calls people "stupid" because they don't believe every allegation against Clinton. Les B Reel is apoplectic that everyone is not ready to pillory Trump, but thinks Clinton is the second coming. I don't see the need to concern myself with the past. And I don't delude myself that either one has an unblemished record. I am concerned first and foremost about what I see in front of my eyes right now. What I have seen is when Trump and Clinton go head to head, she keeps her composure and pushes his buttons, and Trump goes off. I do not want a President who cannot control himself.

-- Posted by lazarus on Fri, Oct 14, 2016, at 2:14 PM
  • My American friends living abroad do not understand how Trump is so close to the Presidency with his meager set of skills, particularly when Hillary is so qualified and experienced......They are receiving their information from International sources.........

-- Posted by Palindrome on Fri, Oct 14, 2016, at 2:41 PM
  • My response to those who ask is that it is not Trump as much as it a frustration and distrust of career politicians. His financial independence for so long has kept him from being "bought" by the "system" that backs so many of our politicians.

Again, it is not Hillary I fear as much the system behind her. I would certainly prefer someone else than Trump, but......

-- Posted by stevemills on Fri, Oct 14, 2016, at 2:56 PM
  • Change the system......But don't ever think Trump is going to be the one to do it.....He is a desperate choice by those looking for an instant fix....It would be an insane fix......The worst kind of reality.

-- Posted by Palindrome on Fri, Oct 14, 2016, at 3:50 PM
  • I echo the dissatisfaction with the status quo. But, if my roof needed repairing, I would not start by burning down the house. I know where Pale Dome is coming from. I have nearly as much interaction with people overseas as I do domestically. And, from a distance, it is incomprehensible how Trump is even under consideration.

If the nomination of Trump is not a wake up call to Washington, I do not know what it would take. That alone is threatening to utterly destroy the Republican Party.

-- Posted by lazarus on Fri, Oct 14, 2016, at 4:03 PM
  • And Trump is suffering from paranoia. He thinks there is a global conspiracy against him.All his wounds are self inflicted. He brought up Bill Clinton in this election and now he has to live with the consequences.Did he actually think his private life would stay hidden.Makes me wonder why he said he knew this would happen when the women came out.He claims he does not know them.Does he know the 2 that came out today, one was on the Apprentice?Contestants in the 2013 pageants stated Trump inspected them backstage one by one as if they were meat. I will say it again this behavior did not stop 11 years ago.

And another thing, why is Assange only hacking and leaking information from the Democratic campaign and how does Trump get this information?

He knows he is losing so his main goal is to pump up his uneducated diciples to start a revolution in America and divide the country.

  • lazarus are you happy with the way our country has been run under Obama if you are then by all means Hillary is your girl. For me I am not amused by his agenda. I am not in any way trying to tell you how to vote or to even try to change your mind.I really do not classify myself as a Republican I do not agree with a lot of their policies But I do not align with Democrats either.. I was fully a Democrat for years, as were my parents. But I do not know who these people are any more they are not the same party they use to be.I am not a fan of socialism and that is the path the Democrats are headed down. I am almost sure my Dad is turning over in his grave by the things going on in the Democratic party today. I would be more than ready for a woman President, just not her. Heck just about any woman but her. Hillary has lived off the taxpayers her entire life and exactly what has she done that has benefited The United States or it's people. Everything she has done has only put money in her pocket, why would I think she would do anything any different if she held our highest office possible.

-- Posted by Dianatn on Fri, Oct 14, 2016, at 5:20 PM
  • To me, Hillary represents everything that is wrong with our system. Some seem to think because she hasn't been charged with criminal activity that she hasn't committed any. I suppose that is in keeping with the American idea of innocent until proven guilty.

However, there is a long list of documented lies that Hillary has told, lies dealing with national security. There have also been breaches of information and cover-ups as result of her actions. Others, committing less of a breach have been prosecuted, but not Hillary.

There is no accountability even when the information is available, that should/would normally lead to prosecution, such as the case with Comey. That is the scary part!! When an unaccountable leader refers to the people of her own country as "irredeemable and deplorables", then that is a cause for concern for all Americans. Such leaders can become dictators murdering, stealing, and lying, but never be charged with a crime. Usually, because anyone who could bear witness is dead.

Personally, I think the U.S. is in serious trouble no matter who gets elected. The level of corruption has undermined any faith I might have in either party, and certainly either current candidate.

-- Posted by Liveforlight on Fri, Oct 14, 2016, at 8:15 PM
  • I am not disappointed with the Democrats. They have pretty well stuck to their platform... Obama delivered more on his promises than any other president I can remember. I am pretty disappointed with the Republican House and Senate, who were supposed to represent conservative interests did not do anything but whine and hold pointless investigations. I was hoping for better. It would have been better if they had some... you know... ideas. But we were the ones who picked them.

  • Trump worshippers cheered today when he said Hillary has no stamina at the last debate and could barely make it to her car.He actually makes them believe they see things they didn't. It was Trump who huffed and puffed and leaned on a chair and sniffed all night. Now he wants a drug test to be done,I bet money he backs out if Hillary agrees. I am glad he isn't using teleprompters anymore, let him be himself. He is digging his own grave. Anyone who sats on a TV show and talks about sex while his daughter and son were present does not need to be commander in chief. His own daughter said on the show "you are a sex predator" and Trump laughed. It will not be so funny when more tapes and victims come out,and they are coming.

  • Trump has adopted risks creating a lasting and bitter divide in America. He has power over people who aren't deep thinkers. This is how Hitler got a whole nation to believe all their problems were caused by the Jews. The three white terrorist caught trying to blow up an apartment of Somalians in Kansas were Trump supporters. Trump supporters have been seen in front of Democratic offices with guns.

Les B Reel makes an unsubstantiated claim that those Christian Terrorists in Kansas are Trump supporters. Fare Share responds with the ridiculous assertion that Clinton "had people like (Les B Reel) firebomb a Trump HQ." If you sit back and look at those accusations like adults, aren't they both a little silly? Aren't you both better than that?

    Re-Set to What?

Isn't that exactly what Donald Trump is running for. . . to reset our nation into one nation under God instead of under Hillary?

Why did the people impeach Bill Clinton for his oral sex in the oval office, and now wnat to bring him back into the white house to change it back into his private ***** house again?

Are you all brain dead? Why should Bill Clinton EVER be allowed in the White House?

Hillary said months ago that everyone knew about her using her private email account for gov. business and had nothing to say about it.

To me she had just implemented POTUS! It was finally declared today in her emails that not only did President Obama know about it but was emailing Hillary to her private phone and email.

No one seems to pay attention to the news! Everyone wants to listen to the commentator. The news tells us what is happening if you are smart enough to know what is really being said.

Comey has FULL INTENTIONS of sending Hillary to Prison... but only AFTER President Obama is out of office and can't issue an executive privilege on the discriminating evidence nor give Hillary a Pardon.

Also, now, James Comey may indict Obama as well or at least use him for his testimony against Hillary.

Comey told us that Hillary did have classified information on her private server, (a federal crime). Hillary did delete emails after told not to. (A federal crime). Hilary told her employees to smash their iphones so no information could be recovered (a federal crime with intent). She had her server files deleted with a hy-tech software so it could never be recovered (a federal rime with intent).

Hillary said her lawyers read every email and deleted only her personal emails. (Did lawyers have top secret clearance, or did Hillary expose all the classified information to her personal lawyers? (a federal espionage crime with intent).

Hillary is accusing Trump of using Russia to hack her emails.

That along would be a good reason to elect Trump if he has that kind of power of Putin!

Hillary has admitted that Russia has hacked her emails several times in the past month or so . . . (Proof that Hillary's email server was not secure and put the United States in danger by allowing Russia to get all the information it wanted to from Hillary's emails, both personal and her DNC emails!

Hillary has never had any protestors interrupting her rallies and campaigns, because all the rioters were from her democratic campaign members.

All the rioters were sent to Trumps campaigns so Hillary could say he was behind the protestors using hate speech against every form of life she could think of.

Hillary is for the women, but picked a white man to be her partner in crime in the Whitehouse. Don't any of you women feel like that is a slap in your face for all the double talk she has done to convince woman she is for the women? She will do nothing for the women. Has she given any women equal pay with men? Not gonna do it! Has Hillary given woman any rights since she has been in the gov? Not gonna do it! Has Hillary even provided any jobs for women besides her side kicks? Not gonna do it!

What is Hillary gonna do? The same **** thing that Obama has done for women! Nut-un.

She is against borders. She wants open borders worldwide. She is against vetting refugees and other immigrants. She is against deporting illegal aligns who have broken our laws, claiming you can't take the parents away from the children. What happens when YOU commit a crime? You go to prison and the wife and kids are left behind to fend the best way they can.

Hillary is against Obamacare because she said it is broken and we have to fix it. But on the other hand she is going to continue supporting Obamacare because she is going to follow in Obama foot steps.

President Obama is a _______ and Hillary wants to follow in his foot steps.

Obama has just started a war in Iraq with a minimum of American troops under Iraq control. Did Congress declare war on Isis all of a sudden or is this another executive order. He waits until his last few months in office to do anything, hoping he will have something good to put in his Library.

After this Hillary will have another Iraq war to deal with if she is elected.

If you noticed, Obama has been campaigning for Hillary to do his best to get her elected, because if she isn't elected, Obama will be dragged down with Hillary in court after he gets out of office.

So what about Trump? Trump has given a lot of women jobs. Financial help. Medical help for their families.

Thousands of dollars for their real estate property. Trump has help men as well.

He is offering to help the brain dead Americans rebuild our Nation and bring the people together that Obama and Hillary has divided.

I have never know people in America being so divided as they are today.

Never heard much about Muslims in America until Obama became President. Never lived in a depression as long as the one Obama and Hillary put us in. Never known Real Estate Property to lose value until Obama became the POTUS. Never seen so many part-time jobs in my life as we have today. You have to hold two jobs to earn the same amount of money as one job use to. Never heard so many lies coming out of the mouth of a President and Secretary of State before. Never seen a President spend as much money as Obama with Hillary's help has in just 7 years. That is treason, especially when you give most of it to foreign countries who want to kill us.

If Trump can make any improvements at all, he has my vote, because Hillary will not make any improvements.

Lazyrus, you, of all people, should know that not everyone can be as good as you. Some of us just have to say what we think. And some of us just have to tell the truth. But, c'est la vie!

Lbr?, in looking back at what I wrote, I might owe you an apology. So, if that post about huma and hilly left a bad taste in your mouth, I apologize.

Sui, I'm sorry to tell you this, but Comey has no intention of going after sick hilly. He already laid out a case before Congress that should result in conviction but he decided she didn't really mean to break the law. The only way for her and the others to ever be prosecuted is for Trump to win and appoint an independent prosecutor. Of course Trump himself is the reset button. He is our only hope for getting back to some semblance of greatness we once had. And for the non-believers, he will at the very minimum slow our decline into the muck of socialism.

Since you invoked Godwin's law, it should be pointed out that Hitler was a failed liberal arts student who blamed all his problems on people with privilege.

He also favored national healthcare, government run child care centers, extravagant spending on infrastructure (autobahn), and was pro-abortion.

Don't forget, his regime was the National SOCIALIST German Workers Party.

  • Steve, I don't know why you continue giving some of these people a forum to vent their vitriol when they clearly don't have the courage of their convictions as evidenced by their use of sobriquets. I understand your intent, but you provide an outlet for people who are clearly unworthy. The only one I know is Dianatn. Here father was a classmate of mine and a lifelong Democrat as were most people of our time. If he had been allowed to live until today, I assure you he would not be a Democrat.

I simply cannot understand how anyone with walking around sense can with a straight face support Clinton. This election is not about choosing between the lesser of two evils but choosing between bad and disasterous.

Carl, my user name is fair share. My nickname is Radar. I have never used my sobriquet here before. You seem to think people that support sick hilly have walking around sense. While some of her supporters do get up and walk around, as opposed to just sitting there like a hood ornament, I am not convinced they do so because they have any sense.

  • Sui since you refuse to acknowledge all of Obama'accomplishments, I come to think it is because you still can't get over America elected twice a black man named Obama. Just his name alone sparked all the muslim conspiracy theories all of a sudden. They have lived among us all these years with out being singled out.

If you think we are in a depression now, what did you call it under Bush.

Trump has never helped anyone but Trump. He cheated people he hired to work for him and never paid others. He hides his taxes and lies about giving to charities. Then takes money given to his charity by others for his personal use.

Why are you so upset about Hillary picking a white male for vice president,Trump did.

The only women Trump will give a job to is one that will do him sexual favors.

Comey is not going to indict Hillary or Obama, get over it.

Trumps followers are to stupid to know that he can not do everything he says( if he wins) without congress, meaning number 1 there will be no wall.

  • Fare; I am not claiming to be "good." I, also, am saying what I think. A lot of these accusations make no sense. Neither the averted bombing of a housing complex, nor the actual firebombing of a campaign headquarters are to the benefit of the party being blamed, and they are smart enough to know that. They would build voter sympathy for the victims. I honestly do not believe that Trump, during his cradle to grave life of privilege, where he never had to face repercussions for his words, realizes that his inflammatory rhetoric could inspire actual violence. He is just an entertainer, continuing his nonsensical Apprentice role. If it gets him cheers, he says it.

I think his interview with Michael Savage puts on display his juvenile view of the world. He actually said that Putin "dislikes" Clinton and Obama because they "insult him all the time." You know, if you are not an 8th grade girl, insults are not the center of your focus. Trump might be (and clearly is) manipulated by praise, and unable to control his responses to real or perceived insults. But, grown up world leaders are not that childish. Like I have said all along; my opinion of Trump is not based on what is said about him. It is what he says that convinces me the lacks the maturity to serve as president.

  • Here's the re-set.

This election is over. You all can continue to call eachother names and argue which candidate is more morally reprehensible.

    But here's the deal.

Hillary Clinton is going to be the 45th President of The United States.

Trump is now reduced to the dangerous ploy of trying to convince his Dunning-Kruger (Google it) effected followers that his monumental loss is only due to voter fraud and a "rigged election."

This attempt to destabilize our democracy is dangerous.

His followers are calling for violent revolution. And he is inciting this behavior.

He's going to lose, but not gracefully.

    That's for sure.

But, as Trump supporters have proven, some to a higher degree.

A quote from Trump on the campaign trail...."I love the poorly educated."

    They love him too.

Trump also has D-K corollary followers. Of course, most of the regular D-Kers are going to sit there and keep voting themselves more of other people's stuff. If you check out early American history, you will find that our forefathers warned the day might come when we would need to do what they did. Those were some smart people back then.

  • I don't think Trump's words would incite riot and "violent revolution" unless there was a tremendous frustration and mistrust of the status quo. Clinton is status quo.

Trump is not the choice many of us had sought, but he might be the catalyst that changes the status quo and THAT needs changing.

I doubt that Trump will be able to do much, but the politicians do not seem to recognize how upset 50% or more of the Nation is either.

On the other hand, I am concerned that Clinton WILL be able to do something because she is supported by a vast shadowy group. Look with open minds at her closest advisors, confidants.

  • The way I see it right wing media propaganda has been painting a picture with an incorrect perspective for a couple of decades now and that perspective has greatly influenced what we see happening today. I believe there are problems in the government that need reform but they are more important reforms than what we see being tossed around in all of the current name calling.

He does have a picture posted, but that is obviously just some movie star hunk from the '50s. Who is really behind these Carl McClanahan posts? We have to wonder. I suspect he is the creation of a vast global conspiracy of mainstream media, international banking cartels, and establishment politicians. A lot of people have told me that, but who knows for sure? Nobody knows.

There you go again laz, with your conspiracy theories. Sounds like you have too much time on your hands. Obviously, someone picked a random first name, a random last name, and a random picture. Voila!, Carl.

And Mike, it is an even more hilarious accusation considering the clinton campaign contracts with a company that contracts with another company (enough for plausible deniability) that sends people to Trump rallies to start fights.

  • Laz,

From his "beer summit" where he called the actions of Cambridge police stupid to "if I had a son" he has injected himself into circumstances he had no reason to be involved in.

He's called for federal civil rights investigations into the Michael Brown, Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, and other cases before the initial local investigation was complete.

He openly supports the BLM movement, nevermind it is based on a lie.

He equated the assassination of the Dallas police to the killings of armed criminals.

He suggests that police departments are still rife with racism.

Google race relations under Obama and you'll find numerous polls showing the majority of Americans saying they've worsened.

  • I am disgusted by both candidates for president, and politicians in general. But, it is Hillary and the DNC inciting violence, not merely by talk either, but organized paid groups who are sent out for the express purpose of starting riots/fights at the Trump rallies.

  • To quote Judge Judy; "What did he say" not how do you characterize what he said. For example, the words "acted stupidly" sound different if you include the entire sentence: "The Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home." (The incident began with police answering a 911 call about a possible burglary.) Apparently, the Cambridge Police department did not entirely disagree, as the charges were dropped and the Mayor of Cambridge apologized for the incident. But, looking at the entire interview, this is the really inflammatory part of what Obama said: "I don't know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played." Outrageous, huh.

-- Posted by lazarus on Tue, Oct 18, 2016, at 7:43 PM
  • And then there is the ridiculous idea that "Hillary and the DNC" are paying protesters to incite violence at Trump rallies.... Why? What would be the motivation? If anything, they would probably pay the protesters *not* to go and disrupt the Trump rallies. It only makes Trump sympathetic and inspires his supporters. The things Trump says at his rallies are the best weapons in the DNC campaign arsenal. Look at their successful debate strategy; push his buttons and let him go off. If there is one thing the Democrats do not want to do, it is shut Trump up. If anyone would have a motive to pay people to protest at Trump rallies, it would be Trump.

-- Posted by lazarus on Tue, Oct 18, 2016, at 7:51 PM
  • Again Laz,

WhY was Cambridge, or any of the other LOCAL events any of his business?

Police had no way of knowing he was the homeowner. Seeing someone trying to get into a house where you've been dispatched to a possible burglary in progress REQUIRES you to secure that person until they can be identified.

Also Hillary likely never intended to be caught paying the rabble rousers. Liberals made hay about all the violence at Trump rallys, so the benefit is obvious.

-- Posted by quietmike on Tue, Oct 18, 2016, at 8:20 PM
  • Here are the FEC records showing payment to one of the protestors who bragged about disrupting a Trump event.

  • Whether or not these events are the President's "business" or not is a matter of opinion, and I do not have a strong opinion one way or the other. I don't see that Obama should recuse himself from any issue specifically involving race relations, altho that seems to be what some people expect.

In the Cambridge incident, one party was personal friend. You are in error on one fact. The issue was not that the police responded to the 911 call, it was that the incident continued *after* it was established that the man was in his own home. He had produced a photo ID showing his address. We all have the same limitation that Obama stated he had; we were not there. But, speculating, it seems likely to me that both the policeman and the homeowner were responsible for the situation not de-escalating after it was established that the man was in his own home. The homeowner should have appreciated that his property was being protected, even if the policeman had been rude; and the policeman should have walked away once he knew that no crime was being committed, even if the homeowner was being a jerk.....

Curiosity aroused, I looked a little further, and found an excellent review of the incident in Fox News (lest you think I am seeking affirmation from a "liberal" source). Maybe I think it is excellent, because it says exactly what I speculated. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/06/30/review-harvard-professor-arrest-finds...

    Hey, Lazyrus,

You seem pretty convinced sick hilly and the DNC had nothing to do with the firebombing (reminds me of the Nazis as that socialist group was taking over Germany) in NC. In your investigation of it, have you asked Scott Foval what he thinks about it? I'm sure you know who he is since you watch Fox sometimes.

Today is the first day of early voting. Don't forget to vote early (and often if you are a socialist). I plan to show them my drivers license just because.

-- Posted by fair share on Wed, Oct 19, 2016, at 9:56 AM
  • What is the motive, Fare? What do they stand to gain? Barring something spectacular, Trump has handed them the White House, and the only real question is how deep the damage goes. He has definitely opened the door for the Senate, and possibly even the House. The fools committing these acts actually help the Republicans.

I have no doubt that the Bombers, just like the idiots disrupting Trump rallies fancy themselves as having, in some sick way, acted on their political beliefs. That some of those people have also found their way into the structure of the campaign is no surprise. There are thousands upon thousands of people involved in the campaign. In a normal election, the number of people on the Republican side would match them, altho it seems that the Trump "organization" is so fouled up that they have much smaller numbers. On either side, political campaigns do precious little vetting of "volunteers," as sheer numbers is the goal.

  • Lazarus as someone who claims to be a thinker, you seem to miss the obvious motives for inciting riots. The actions are carried out to match the rhetoric.

Hillary and the DNC label Trump and his supporters as "Hate filled racists". Therefore, they seek to provide the proof for the narrative by instigating riots in order to provide the media the proof. Seems pretty simple to me, and effective.

-- Posted by Liveforlight on Wed, Oct 19, 2016, at 9:34 PM
  • Not the crazy stuff, mike. If it helps, I don't believe the crazy stuff that is said about Republicans, either.

  • Liver Light; I don't remember ever claiming to be a "thinker." I am just an old hillbilly, who has his own opinions. But, I will take that as a compliment....Thank you!

I recall the "Deplorables" comment, and it was not directed at *all* Trump supporters. It was not even directed at Trump himself. While it might have been applauded by a lot of Democrats, it was an error in judgement to say it, and it was followed by an apology. Both Parties face the problem of dealing with the foolish acts that might be perpetrated by supporters, who think they are acting in the best interest of their Party of choice. However bad they might talk about the other Party, neither Party stands to gain by demonizing the followers of the other Party (You are aware, that those are the same people they might hope to some day swing over to their own side).

I think that everyone is aware that the two main constituencies of Trump are the dissatisfied voters, and those who have been convinced that Clinton is the Devil. That said, there *are* hate filled racists among his followers. If you don't believe me, you should go wandering in the White Supremacist sites. The hate filled racists do support Trump. His statements have encouraged them to believe that he represents their interests. I think the truth is that Trump is just an entertainer. He says anything that pops into his head, and if it gets applause, he repeats it. Some of the things he says leads those people to believe that Trump shares their core beliefs. I do not think that is true. There has been nothing that leads me to believe that Trump believes in anything but feeding his ego, and obtaining money, by any means possible.

It is one of those inexplicable ironies, that the people who are dissatisfied with dishonest politicians have chosen to fall in behind a bigger liar and thief than any politician in history!

  • Lazarus, the "Thinker" label was applied more as an observation of your overall posts in general, not that you made that claim. I am glad you take that as a compliment it was not intended as an insult, just an observation.

I don't disagree that there are hate filled racist among Trump supporters. However, there are just as many, if not more, hate filled racists among Hillary supporters. The point is that "the campaign" has been working to bring out the worst in the Trump camp as documented by the videos even to the point of violence.

In fact, I find that these blogs tend to do the same thing, (bring out the worst in people). That is the main reason I refrain from posting or even reading them anymore. As you noted above, the blogs usually degenerate into name calling, which brings out the worst in people. BTW,intentionally altering another users name is the same as name calling.

I don't think Hillary is the devil, but I do think the Democrat platform is evil as it advances the killing of babies, homosexuality, false witness, and plundering of the citizenry.

Personally, I am sick of seeing an hearing both Trump and Hillary.

-- Posted by Liveforlight on Thu, Oct 20, 2016, at 5:31 PM
  • Hello Liver; I like to think of my name alteration as more of a wink and a grin, than "name calling." We shouldn't, any of us, take ourselves too seriously to respond to a wink and a grin... should we? I try not to let the blogs bring out the worst in me.

To be honest, I expected overt racism to make its last stand these last 8 years, and it has not surprised me. Looking back at my youth, when blacks could not go to the same school, eat at the same restaurant, drink from the same fountain, or even use the same restroom as me, and comparing that to a US where a black man could be elected President, I think that is progress we can be proud of. If things are not perfect, they are certainly nothing like what it used to be. I do believe that, altho they are a minority, most of the overt racists have gravitated to Trump. His message gives them false hope. On the Clinton side you will find more of the latent racism of lowered expectations. We have a ways to go, but we have come a long way, already.

As far as the Democratic "platform" goes. I am probably not the one to defend it, since I would be more in agreement with the traditional Republican platform on most issues. Not all, but most. I am not sure Trump has a real platform, except whatever people want to hear at the moment. However, the points you have taken issue with, are not really a substantial part of the Democratic platform. Responding to your points of contention, I think the abortion issue is the most difficult. I can perfectly well understand the viewpoint of those who think it is an absolute evil. I do not totally agree, but I can see where you are coming from. As far as homosexuality goes; this is an issue between each person and god; not each person and the government. I think the hot button issue is "marriage," but marriage is not an institution controlled by the government. The government can only legislate the issues of property, which is in essence just a civil contract. Marriage is an institution of the church. The government cannot rightfully deny any person equal access to the same property rights as anyone else. Nor can the government rightfully tell any church who it can, or cannot, (or, more importantly, *must*) marry. I am not sure of your reference to "false witness." Then, there is the issue of "plunder." I, also, have some grievances with the taxes we pay. But, who doesn't? The things government does must be paid for, and I learned while in government, that EVERYONE wants the government to do things... things that benefit them. I fielded a lot of calls from people complaining about the government spending money on this, that, or the other thing. Without exception, every one of those calls ended up with the caller expressing the opinion that the government should be doing "something else;" and that "something else" was invariably more expensive than the "something" they called to complain about in the first place. Whenever I get too aggrieved about taxes, I just remind myself that there are no taxes in the place that used to be Somalia. Of course, in Somalia, if I had anything, some warlord would just kill me and take it.

Lastly; I am with you on just wanting this election to be over. A presidential campaign should not resemble the Maury Povitch show.

-- Posted by lazarus on Mon, Oct 24, 2016, at 12:18 PM

It is nice we can find some common ground for agreement.

-- Posted by fair share on Tue, Oct 25, 2016, at 5:58 AM
  • You know what is really surprising about the Wikileaks "revelations?" What surprises me is how truly innocuous they are. Having all of anyone's private discussions made public is going to be somewhat embarrassing. (Isn't that why most everyone on here is under a nom de plume? even public comments might be embarrassing.) Let's see what we have learned... The Democrats have (gasp) campaign strategy designed to attract votes from specific groups of voters!!!!!! Isn't that a shock? Aren't candidates supposed to campaign by just spouting off anything that pops into their heads? And what other shockers are out there. Clinton has to adopt parts of the platform that aren't always in agreement with her personal preferences... Gee. I think that makes her exactly the same as anyone else who holds a responsible position and answers to someone else. For me, it was my boss. Even when I did not think we were taking the best approach to something, it was my job to make it work. That is how it is in the grown up world. Clinton believes in the "Free Trade" agreements, but the voters don't; so she has to oppose them... That almost sounds like Democracy working, and the people having a voice. But, that can't be it. She is from the wrong party. But, here is the biggie. "The election is rigged." You mean the Democrats wanted to nominate an electable candidate? Do you think the Republicans didn't? What do you think the private e-mails between Republican leaders looked like, when they realized they were in danger of being forced to nominate an unelectable candidate? Are you aware that political parties are not a part of the government, and they can select a nominee any way they want? I suspect that Sanders accomplished his real goal, which was to give his supporters opinions influence in the final platform... geez; voters having a voice. Sounds way to much like the way Democracy works... or should.

So, what have we ended up with? One party is running a candidate that might not be exactly beloved, but they have a platform that is a product of compromise, giving a wide range of voters some of what they want. The other party is running a candidate with a knack for firing up a small percentage of the voting population, and has a platform that gives a narrowly focused group everything they want. And to Hxxx with everyone else. When you count up the votes, who is going to win? If this election is rigged, it was the Republicans who rigged it against themselves.

  • That's some nice spin, too bad it leaves out so much.

Project Veritas shows Hillary's involvement in election fraud.

The emails, and FEC records that I posted earlier (that strangely went without comment), shows the Hillary campaign paying people to disrupt Trump rallies.

They show Hillary removing Algeria from the terror watch list after a donation.

It shows democrats knew the Iran deal was a steaming pile while publicly lauding it.

It shows the administration selling weapons to ISIS.

It shows Obama lied (shocker) when he said he didn't know Hillary was using a private server.

It shows over 50 MSM reporters colluding with Hillary's campaign.

It shows Hillary suggested intimidating/blackmailing justice Roberts to get him to support obamacare.

It shows numerous examples of "pay for play".

It shows her suggesting Julian Assange be "droned".

Best of all, CNN, in their warning that reading or possesing these "stolen emails" would be a crime, gave a tacit admission to their veracity.

Seems like such an odd oversight on their part.

-- Posted by lazarus on Wed, Oct 26, 2016, at 12:30 AM
  • I believe if I were running a "vast global conspiracy" I would leave the conspiracy theory websites alone unless they get too much attention and believability. Then I would eliminate them in a quiet fashion

A good competitor will often create their own competitor to gather more of the marketplace so I would not be surprised if they even created a few conspiracy Theory websites to compete, drown out or mislead with conspiracies that distract.

Want more conspiracy theory? How about creating my own competitive candidate who I believe I can beat by releasing information in case that candidate goes off the reservation and takes their candidacy seriously?

  • Mikey, hearsay from anonymous sources can not be put forth as "fact."

The "story" about the Clinton/Assange drone comment was written by an anonymous writer, using anonymous sources, and posted on the right-wing hack website True Pundit.

It is nothing more than an Internet rumor.

I can post a link to the National Examiner with an article that claims definitive proof of the existence of Bigfoot, and it would have exactly the same credibility as your story.

You also post links from websites like Zero Hedge. Another very unreliable site run by the fictitious "Tyler Durden" ( a character from the movie "Fight Club")

And list Project Veritas as another source. A group run by convicted political criminal James O'Keefe, who has actually been proven to have posted false stories in the past.

This is where you get your info and then post it like its fact?

And then you have the audacity to chastise others for not doing any research?

It's too bad several prominent democrats didn't realize these were unreliable internet rumors deserving no credibility before they resigned.

That was when he testified to Congress laying out step by step all (or at least some) of sick hilly's illegal activities. Now that he had the audacity to let Congress know they found even more emails to look at, he apparently is the Devil incarnate. Doesn't really matter what he does at this point. He will always be a weasel and won't be able to rehabilitate his reputation.

  • Comey was the devil incarnate to Trump when he found no evidence of wrong doing now he is the best thing since slice bread since he said he found more emails.Looks like Trump has reset his opinion also.Trump even called the FBI rigged.

Speaking of reputations,Trump's lawsuit is suppose to begin in December. You know fair share the one about him raping a 13 year old at his friend pedophile Jeffery Epstein's home during a sex party.

  • Why are the GOP in Washington already talking about impeaching Clinton and the election has not even happened?

They will not even have a hearing on Obama's pick for Supreme Court because they stated they want the "people to decide after the election".Now they are saying if the people choose Hillary they will block ANYONE she picks. They are there to govern for the good of the country not simmer if they get a Democratic president.I hope most of them get voted out.

I had a good laugh today when Trump's wife said as first lady she wants to stop cyber bullying.I think she needs to start with her husband. Still have not heard her say anything about her big speech on her immigration status.

I see Trump has 2 newspaper endorsements now,The Crusader by the KKK along with the National Enquirer.

Well Steve, we got the reset. End of an error. And in typical sick hilly style she went down lying. The funny thing about that was she sent her lackey Podesta to do the lying. He told all her gullible supporters to go home and sleep while they finished counting the votes. She didn't even have the decency to lie to them in person. But I can't feel sorry for the sick hilly supporters or the Trump haters. However I do have one bit of advice for them. Suck it up, buttercups.
