Don't I look adorable, uhmmm adoptable?
As most of you know, we have cats, LOTS of cats and this two year old Dalmatian mix has been living a conflicted life too long. She wants to be good but she has a, so far, uncontrollable urge to chase cats.
I am not sure what the trigger is since right now she is sitting outside with one of our oldest cats looking like best buddies. We have pictures of her going nose to nose with many of them and until last night, slept with 4 of them in an attached greenhouse.
From the greenhouse standpoint, she is housebroken with no accidents but she usually had the ability to go outside at any time, so I do not know how "big" her bladder is, but she knows to NOT go in the greenhouse.
She is also very smart but not smart enough to control her urges. LOVES to ride on jaunts to town and calls "shotgun" every time. I've never tried to train her for the pickup bed. She also loves to be with humans but has a tendency to jump on men. I guess I was not the best trainer on that point.
After a case of mistaken identity, she also stays pretty close to the truck if I let her out while going to the P.O. or convenience center. The "case"? She jumped in someone else's truck and thought I was trying to fool her when I called her out. Good thing the other folks did not short circuit. After she realized her mistake, she stays much closer and often is in the truck before I call for her.
She stepped across the line yesterday afternoon and is now chained outside with a temporary shelter. This is not how I wish to continue our relationship so we need to find her another home. She has all her shots, been spayed, "chipped" and in good health.
Since she would be prime "fodder" for dog fighting, there will be an adoption fee, but not paid to me. Instead we will ask for a background check and a donation of $75 to be made to some non-profit animal rescue organization.
