  • Good thing I did not look up. That same inch and a half was sitting on top of the top beams, then it was sitting on my head and shoulders!

  • I see forecast for 12 degrees tonight but that translates to single digits here on our hill. What's a few degrees? It cold.

Cats are having to get dry food last night through Sunday. Their mix of wet and dry is freezing in the dish so dry is the answer.

Keeping water fluid is another challenge but we are doing better than the goldfish. They are frozen in for a few days.

They make water holders that circulate the water, but they cost and have to be plugged in (or maybe battery). Could do like when I was a kid--get thirsty outside, eat snow. But with the sun shining and melting the snow/ice, they should be able to scrounge enough water for the next few days.

  • Water is starting to flow again but I was surprised at water that I kept thawed last year could not make it these past few days.

I used light bulbs underneath a frame that holds the water above it. We had to replace them this year and while the wattage was supposedly the same, I think the heat output was much less.

Probably a good think for energy conservation, but that is not what i was hoping for. May see about replacing them and trying something else.
