I purposely chose to NOT say the name of the persons involved because I do not want to give one person in particular any more exposure than necessary. At least I won't in the title or main post, making it a little less searchable. That probably tells you my opinion of a picture posted by a "comedienne" of a beheaded mannequin, similar in appearance to our current President. I use quotes because in my opinion, I never saw much comedy in her skits I've seen.
Actually, I cannot think of words strong enough, but was pleased to see numerous posts/tweets from both sides of the aisle condemning the action. Even Chelsea Clinton did not see anything of value in it and criticized the picture and act.
This "comedienne" is now apologizing, saying she did not realize how poor, despicable, sick, etc.,etc.,etc. it was. No, she just did not realize how OTHERS would respond and it is now hitting her in the pocketbook and hopefully will for a long time to come.
What I found interesting was how the story was treated by the morning news. It was linked to another "blurb" and given MAYBE 5 seconds of time (with no condemnation) while they gave Tiger Woods story about driving while impaired more than 180+ seconds and comments about how bad this was in regard to endangering others.
Trump commented that besides being sick, it also was giving his 11 year old son issues. Can you imagine the issues it was giving families who have gone through this for real? Even though it was quickly determined to be a fake head by adults, what about other children and what about encouraging others to emulate? EXTREMELY POOR judgement, taste, etc. I hope she finds another form of employment and her public career is over.
CBS wase right, Tiger was endangering others, but this so called comedienne was simulating terrorist videos of beheading captives (let alone our President) and it gets 5 seconds, behind some other clip of which I cannot even remember? Were they not wanting to encourage others, considerate of the families who have had this happen to their loved ones, or wanting to bury the story so no one would condemn a friend?
I noticed the BBC brought up four other instances of celebrities voicing opinions in a similar fashion although none so graphic. Three were toward Trump and one was toward Obama. Balanced reporting.
CNN reported this current episode but added that a singer had said things about trying and lynching Obama, then showed a picture of Trump and the singer in the White House. It was kind of a stretch but that seemed to negate the current incident, at least in the mind of that reporter. They did not mention the other three celebrity "issues" that were all directed at Trump. Not so balanced reporting.
Does it seem that the Liberals are in full force to find anything and everything they can to stir up controversy? Are they still getting a pass from the press? Will they or the people get burned out before the next elections? Are they really trying to bring our Nation together with these tactics?
