  • It is getting close, though the long-range forecast for up here is below-normal temps for Feb. thru April. I've got clover greening up and some irises up about four inches.

  • Our irises got hit hard this winter. No snow cover and low single digit temps. The daffy’s are OK though. Buds in some so I would expext some color soon. :-)

Hmmmm, as I think about it, I did not notice any Chinese money plants. They usually stay around our winters. I will have to check.

  • I also had single digit temps more than once and very little snow. I think being up close to the house helps plus they're kind of blocked off from north winds.

  • In the upper right hand part of your garden picture, it looks like a little bird sticking out of the ground. It has red on its head , a grey beak and has a grey body Am I the only one with a great imagination???? hp

  • Hmmm, i need to get some of what you have HPP 😳

I believe it is a leaf, the red comes from the walls of the container it is in. I need to look closer about the beak. Just hope it isn’t a cat doing its’ business. 😬

  • First daffodil bloomed today. One and only one, but I'll take it. I'm sure some of you already have them too. GREAT isn't it.

  • So much for the warmer days but not terrible. I have four jugs of various oriental cabbage that I finally brought in last night.

They probably would have survived the light freeze but why take a chance. I am able to fit all four of them in a plastic crate, so they come and go easily.
