Garlic starting to green up
Please forgive typos. Written with thumbs on tiny screen:
It is time if you plant seeds in cold frames, in the house or winter jugs. Several of our neighboring garden junkies already have 50 or more winter sown jugs. Me? I have two and only one would i consider putting totally outside. (Baby Bok Choy)
I have large plastic tubs and half-barrels from last year but the plastic is not holding up well. If my back holds up i may be tempted to build a second level of rock walls 18-20” deep for kitchen garden veggies and herbs.
Those, along with two large strips I tilled in the old garden should meet my garden dreams for this year. Too much, like I did a Few years ago could kill the desires entirely so I have to hold back and HOPE I will want more.
Although i thought I had given all my seeds away, I apparently did not, so there is more than enough to see if my garden fire is truly lit.
Anyone else starting to get the urge?
I am pleased to find that my “get up and go” did not totally leave. The back shed needed new breaker box and switches, dine. The goldfish pond return pipe had sprung a BIG hole and has been shut down During the cold months. I dug it up a few weeks ago and yesterday went out with a hair dryer to warm up the hose enough to install a splice. (DONE) Really would love to give away 20-30 adult goldfish. ;-) ;-)
Some of those plant containers were on top of a few daffodils and it was bugging Deb, who started nudging me so they have moved to allow them to prosper and will become part of that lower rock garden I mentioned at the beginning. Not done yet, but committed enough to say it will get done by Spring.
