  • As a veteran perhaps i am a little more sensitive than most. The problem is as I see it is in using the benefit of the massive amount of money spent to gather an audience of millions on TV and tens of thousands in the stadiums for personal activism while being on the clock at one's work place. These people have every right to express themselves and advocate any position in a proper forum. Imposing on me as I expect to watch an event is hubristic to the highest degree and displays a total lack of respect for the very people they claim do not respect them. This practice exacerbates any real or perceived problems and assures greater animosity.

  • As you might guess Carl, I agree. They are damaging the sport they supposedly love and one that is rewarding them many times over.

The NFL has seen that and is trying to save it. Even though the players want to make their statement and willing to shell out the fine (which will probably be paid by some interest group or even the team) they, the NFL, and fans will all suffer if they continue to disrespect the United States.

The fans that pay for tickets, buy the NFL gear, etc., are predominantly patriotic and will stop supporting the sport. Many have started doing this, which is what forced the NFL and owners to try to resolve the issue. I now have much more time available on Sundayís and my wife likes it. They may not get that time back. :-/

  • Steve, Carl I do not watch or support any of the NFL teams. They don't appreciated any thing that I have done in supporting this county in the military. As far as I care at this point, They can just drop all the teams and try to earn a living like most of the exsoldiers in this country.

  • Now THAT would make a statement. NFL players who quit to go back to their neighborhoods to protest all the money and adoration spent on them by our evil nation.

Maybe join the Armed Services to serve even more. YES!

I would definitely respect their commitment to protest.

  • I say let people do what they will do and let it reflect on them! Their actions and words only reflect on what type of person they are. It donít affect me wheather they are patriotic or not, and I really donít give a flip!

If the team owners require an image for their teams and they are getting paid to uphold that image as part of the team, you better do your job or risk being fired!

Itís not a national issue, itís an individual employee vs boss thing if you ask me!...follow the money if you must squawk about it...thatís the only reason even the media took it up...they were tired of politic reporting which seems to be all there is nowadays!....

Letís cut on some music and shut that idiot box off awhile....well!.....after we find out who's lying Trump or his ex-lawyer Mr Cohen, or his new lawyer over the last playmate or the first escort, or whomever has slept with who!

Maybe we should protest having to hear who slept with who! It seems vary patriotic to protest the lives of others these "dayz" !....I frankly donít have time to keep up with it all, I have my own life to deal with and way too poor to care!...Just saying!

  • Protest all the junk? Regrettably all we can do is turn it off but others will feast.

A more polite nation? Sounds nice.

When we were growing up who slept with whom was not a normal subject and if it was sonehow published, they better have their facts straight. Now? Apparently it does not matter if it is true.
