Both Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh appeared to believe their testimony of an event or non-event, depending on who you support. I believe Christine Blasey Ford had a near rape experience, but I do not believe she has her attacker correct. This is based on news report as the information came out and the fact that she did not seem clear on those facts until she had more time with her lawyers and supporters.
Having never been in a similar situation, I have no idea how to evaluate her memories, so this is just my gut. My gut also tells me that Brett Kavanaugh was telling the truth as he knows it as well. I am not sure why the opposition was so determined to try to get him to say he wanted an FBI investigation. He said he was open to whatever the committee decided, but that was not enough. I suppose it was a legal or public relations point that the opposition will exploit and maybe Kavanaugh knew what they were positioning for so, he never came out and said it.
I was pleased to see his anger at what he and his family were being put through. It needed to be said, although he got a little testy as the questioning became repetitious, picking at his enjoyment of beer and his high school yearbook. I agree it was getting trivial, but he became combative and apparently realized it during a break after which apologized for his challenging responses.
But the WINNER in my opinion was Lindsey Graham for his slamming of fellow committee members (Democrats) for demonizing and trashing this man's reputation and family for a political cause. I believe he was right that BOTH Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh were being victimized by them and that they could care less about truth or justice for EITHER side. A few other committee members echoed his sentiments but he led the way and his State of South Carolina has every reason to be proud of him today for calling it as he saw it.
OK guys, let me have it.
