I know many think Civics is a boring class. Some think it is also an easy class but if it is taught completely, it can be challenging and have immense rewards. Check this story on CBS Sunday Morning https://www.cbsnews.com/news/supreme-court-justices-sonia-sotomayor-and-neil-gorsuch-promote-civics-education/
These days, you might expect it to be an expose on partisan politics of the Supreme Court but it is a welcome respite to all that is going on around us and speaks of the importance of Civics being taught in the classroom. My opinion, it should not be limited to one class and should be taught on the elementary and High school level. ESPECIALLY for those about to become of legal voting age.
While there, you might check out a few other interesting stories. One about a civil political campaign on in Vermont, one on Walter Cronkite and a few general interest topics. I know it sounds like an advertisement for the show, and maybe it is, but it the one "news" program I will watch each week if at all possible. https://www.cbsnews.com/sunday-morning/
