The whole "hate Trump" thing reminds me of George Orwell's book "1984". The people were basically forced into "Hates" in which they were shown propaganda clips and encourage to act out against the object of hatred. The object being to solidify-unify the people and give them a vent for their anger. That is exactly what has been happening.

Here are a few thought provoking quotes from Orwell's book:

"We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing...The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end."

‘Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing.’

‘The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power – pure power.’

‘The masses never revolt of their own accord, and they never revolt merely because they are oppressed. Indeed, so long as they are not permitted to have standards of comparison, they never even become aware that they are oppressed.’

‘War Is Peace. Freedom Is Slavery. Ignorance Is Strength.’

‘He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past.’

‘Being in a minority, even in a minority of one, did not make you mad. There was truth and there was untruth, and if you clung to the truth even against the whole world, you were not mad.’

‘The past was erased, the erasure was forgotten, the lie became the truth.’

‘Reality exists in the human mind and nowhere else.’

‘Doublethink means the power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one’s mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them.’

This last one is of particular interest to me. I have spoken with many people about moral issues such as abortion and homosexuality/gender identity. Almost always, they recognize the moral issue for what it is, voice a definite belief concerning the issue, but accept the opposing view as being acceptable as well.

Now, before people start taking these quotes as being applicable to either the left or the right, the Dems or the GOP, let me remind you that Russia banned this book for being anti-communist and the U.S. banned the book for being pro-communist.

Many of the issues today come down to whether or not you believe in collectivism or individuality. Our government (both parties) has been moving us towards the model of collectivism for a long time. If you value individual liberty, be aware that the model of collectivism will override individual rights, responsibilities, and freedoms. Stop thinking in terms of right vs left. Both sides are taking us in the same direction. Look at the issue in simple terms, for what it is, and decide for yourself whether the masses of people should be able to override what you know to be true. If you don't know what is true, seek the truth objectively and diligently.

Liveforlight, although you allude to it briefly, the main underlying theme of 1984 is rewriting history so as to mold historical scholarship to support the elites. This is the job of Winston Smith, the main character. Sound familiar anyone...??

There are many underlying themes in 1984. That is what makes it so relevant. Winston works in "The Ministry of Truth" (media). There are 4 "Ministries" in the book.

The idea that I get from the book is that Winston wants to be free and independent but is trapped in the collective (party). He finds a level of freedom only to be discovered, punished, and brainwashed into actually loving his oppressors (big brother).

There are so many parallels between this book and today that it can hardly be considered coincidence.

I agree, Winston Smith's heart was not in his work just as his acceptance of the party line re romance was nonexistent, yet my point is the Party's line to rewrite history is ongoing in America today, engineered by the Democrat Party. I did not mean to imply this was the only or even the major theme of 1984, just to indicate people should read and apply the themes to existential activities of a major Party.

  • One point of interest in "1984" is that religion is left out. Orwell was an atheist. So, that it is not surprising.

He was also a "democratic socialist". So, it is no real surprise that the book ends with Winston loving Big Brother.

I have to wonder if Orwell's book is being used as a model, or if the inherent truths are just complementary. Whatever the case, it is evident that we are moving in that (socialist) direction.

Orwell was ahead of his time. But I think they are using it as their bible, along with Saul Alinsky's how to, DIY manifesto.

  • Only the federal government is so inefficient it took them until 2021 to get to 1984.

It is all being played out now if you pay attention to EVERYTHING you see and hear on the Main Stream Media. It is a take over by the Deep state only Trump has defeated the Deep State and taking it away from the Deep State (Swamp) and returning our country back to us under our original Constitution.

Y'all will wake up one day. It is coming very quickly now. The Quantum Finance System is in place. Our currency is backed by Gold. The Federal Reserve has been shut down, The IRS has been shut down the Central Banks have been shut down. The whole world knows what is going on in America and laughing at us because we don't know what Trump has done. They laugh at Fake President Joe Biden because they know Joe is Dead and not the President. Joe Biden wants to shut down Gitmo where he Died as a traitor. We are forced to watch all this stupid stuff in the news SIMPLY Because the American people can't wake up to the real Truth.

The real Truth are the websites that are being shut down. If they were just conspiracy theorist, they would not pose a threat to the MSM. They can't prove the Truth is a lie, so they just say it is a Conspiracy Theory and has been debunked but hasn't been.

We saw what the Democrats tried to do with the 2nd impeachment. It was so embarrassing to the Democrats that they just dropped it.

They are only acting stupid and doing dumb stuff because they are going to Gitmo when everything is exposed and they know it.

Do not get me wrong. We saw a lot of Republicans show their true colors and where they will be going also. You either work for Trump or the Deep State. They are either Good or Evil. No in between!

The George Orwell's book "1984" is coming to a close and a New world is emerging along with a new way of life.

    The End!

I wouldn't call romney, et al, Republicans. More suitable would be transrepublicans.

2020 tax filing and payment are still due April 15th. As are 2021 1st quarter estimate if you pay quarterly.
