It's been a busy week at Heritage Medical Center. Last week, the local hospital celebrated Hospital and Nurses Week by honoring its staff with popcorn, an ice cream social, cookout and candy. "Each department picked another department to show appreciation to," said Charisse Judkins, marketing director. "We also had each department pick a theme and create a basket to auction off. The proceeds for the auction went to Relay for Life." Additionally, the hospital conducted another tour of the facility when first grade students from Eakin Elementary visited. The students visited radiology, where they saw pictures of X-rays and cardiac CT scans, the emergency room, helipad and an ambulance. The students were given gloves, hats and masks to wear during the tour.
