Officers are looking for a man who allegedly attacked his girlfriend at a home on U.S. 41A North.

Kenneth Wayne Currier allegedly punched the woman in the face and head, pulled her from her bed, took her phone and prevented her from leaving early Thursday, a Bedford County Sheriff’s Office report said.

The victim escaped after regaining control of her phone and calling a friend after sunrise.

Currier will be charged with domestic assault and false imprisonment, the report said.

**Struck by car

A woman was struck by a vehicle while walking across North Main Street at Quarry Street late Friday afternoon, according to a Shelbyville Police Department report.

The victim wasn’t seriously injured and was given a ride to her Jennifer Circle home by the driver who hit her, police said.

**Drug charge

Police charged a Shelbyville man with simple possession of a schedule IV drug after Xanax bars were found in the center console of a vehicle early Thursday.

Elias Francisco Gaspar was riding in a car that officer Matt Sharp saw run off North Main Street onto a sidewalk. Gaspar allegedly initially said had been asleep and woke up when the car’s driver told him he was on his own and ran away. According to the report, Gaspar said he did not own the drug.

Additional charges of vandalism, filing a false report, open container and financial responsibility were filed against Gaspar after a closer look at Sharp’s patrol car video showed him climbing from the driver’s seat into the passenger seat immediately after the wreck.

**Angry rampage

An angry driver made racial slurs against the owner of The Smokers Club, North Main Street, before striking the owner’s vehicle with his truck Friday night, police were told.

The victim told police he had spoken to the suspect about speeding in the parking lot.
