Several allegedly-stolen items were found in an SUV driven by a suspect caught inside a dispatcher's vehicle at Bedford County Communications Center Wednesday night, Shelbyville police.

Brandon Wayne Hudson, 26, of Maple Street is charged with auto burglary and criminal trespassing.

The dispatcher ordered Hudson out of his vehicle and held him until police arrived. Hudson allegedly claimed he was turning off the vehicle's dome light.

Officer Brad Evans searched Hudson's vehicle and found multiple items including locked cell phones, a Nintendo controller and games and a spare tire from another car.

Hudson told police he had purchased most of the items on Facebook Marketplace. Police allege the items were stolen from vehicles. A family member told police she suspected a purse she'd been given by Hudson was stolen.

A $7,500 bond was set for Hudson, who was being held Friday at Bedford County Jail.

**Caught

A man investigators attempted to detain until his identity could be confirmed allegedly tried to run away Thursday.

Shelbyville police detectives Cody Swift and Nathan Everhart saw Joshua Lee Hill, 27, of U,S, 41A North walking along El Bethel Road on Thursday and asked his name. Hill allegedly gave a false name and ran as officers attempted to handcuff him.

A 17th Judicial District Drug Task Force agent caught and cuffed Hill. Everhart allegedly found two counterfeit $50 bills on Hill during a search. A bill reader at a Shelbyville store was used to confirm the bills' status.

Hill was charged with evading arrest, criminal simulation, criminal impersonation, driving on suspended license (third offense) and violation of probation and held on $20,000 bond.
