CLIFFTON — For the second year-in-a-row, the Cascade Lady Champion golf team will be represented in the Class A state tournament, which will be held at Sevierville Golf Club, beginning on Monday.
Cascade finished second in the Region 5-A match earlier this week, but saw Tatyana Greene qualify for the state tournament as an individual for the second time in as many years.
The Region 5-A tournament was held at Ross Creek earlier this week and keeping up with their stellar season, the Cascade Lady Champs found themselves right at the top of the leaderboard throughout the 18-hole match.
Summertown won the team competition, while Karlie Campbell posted the lowest score of the match, shooting a 76.
Hot on her heels were several local golfers, including Greene.
Greene led the Lady Champs with an 83, while Anna Clanton shot a 91, putting Cascade firmly in second-place by 15 strokes.
Summertown’s 159 was the top mark for the team standings.
Also competing from Bedford County was Community junior Logan Miller.
Miller entered the Region 5-A tournament as an individual qualifier and finished his season with an 89.
