Billy Eugene Hulan Sr., 77, of Shelbyville stepped out of time and into eternity on December 10, 2020. A private graveside service for the family is planned. Hillcrest Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Angels welcoming him home were his son, Billy Eugene Hulan Jr., father and mother, Robert and Virginia Griffith Hulan, his parents-in-love, William Allen and Bertha Douglas McKamey, his sister-in-love, JoAnn Wooton, brothers, Forrest, Bobby, Leonard and sister, Alice Smith.

Bill grew up in East Nashville, was active in youth church, attended business school and went to work in retail management. In the 47 years he worked at Walmart he lived in 7 states and moved 22 times. He will be remembered as a mentor for the young people under his leadership. His family loved his quick wit and pleasant smile. After his retirement he spent his time helping his neighbors. He never missed an opportunity to sit and chat with the elderly.

Left to mourn his loss and celebrate his homegoing are his wife of 55 years, Betty Joyce McKamey Hulan, grandson, Billy Eugene “Trey” Hulan III, daughter-in-love, Tracy Hulan Denton, his family-in-love the William Allen McKamey family and the James Brown family, his brother, George Hulan, sisters, Betty Smith, Roberta Winchell and Roanna Dunn as well as numerous nieces and nephews and especially his Golden Girls, friends and his Beagle Jack.

The family would be honored with memorial donations to Fellowship For Christ Church, 142 Richdale Lane, Shelbyville, TN. 37160.
