Mr. Billy Thomas Garrett, 72, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at his home, under the loving care and comfort of his family and Hospice Compassus.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2022, at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel. Rev. Jimmy West and Minister Jason Barrett will officiate, with burial to follow in Willow Mount Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

He was born December 13, 1949, in Rutherford County, to the late Ellis R. and Thelma Watson Garrett. Previous work experience included Samsonite Corporation in Murfreesboro. He retired from Nissan after nearly three decades of service. He was a champion at playing ping pong, pitching horse shoes, and he loved tennis. An avid fisherman, he was well known as a most qualified auto mechanic. Billy attended Edgemont Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edmon Garrett and a sister, Mable Anne Garrett.

Survivors, include his wife, Judy McCullough Garrett, of Shelbyville; a sister, Carolyn Pitts, and her husband Stan; a brother, Kenneth Garrett; children, Donald Garrett, of Milton, Tim Garrett, and his wife Trina, of Lascassas, Brad Garrett, and his wife Nicole, of Lascassas, Jason Graham, and his wife Lidia, of Murfreesboro, Julie Graham, of Shelbyville, Emily Thomas, and her husband Jason, of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren, Kirsten Garrett, Logan Garrett, Crystal Garrett, Ethan Garrett, Kaleb Garrett, Taylor Guardado, and her husband David, Aimee Campbell, and her husband Chris, Kip Prosser, and his wife Grace, Henley Thomas, Kiley Graham, and Palin Graham; great-grandchildren, Sofia Guardado, Lane Guardado, Ali Campbell, and Landry Prosser; several nieces and nephews.

Feldhaus Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
