Sharon Shelton McDonald hosted a garden party at her Shelbyville home earlier this week for her book club friends. Despite cooler morning temperatures, those who attended reveal it was a grand time to hear about Sharon's recently published memoir/book, "Precious Memories."
The book is published by the Jesse Stuart Foundation in Kentucky and is filled with lots of memories from her childhood growing up here as a young girl. Sharon had the perfect backdrop for her talk, as she lives in her childhood home still.
"Record everything that you can recall, while you can still remember," says McDonald, a retired Eakin Elementary first grade teacher.
The Jesse Stuart Foundation and readers have praised McDonald's memoir for its many historical aspects, especially all the vivid pictures she decided to include in the publication.
