LYNCHBURG — Sammie Brown claimed the win in the circle and helped her cause at the plate as Shelbyville Central’s Golden Eaglettes rolled past host Moore County on Monday night.
Brown scattered five hits over five innings with four strikeouts and only two walks then blasted a grand-slam in the top of the fourth inning to lead the Eaglettes (2-1).
Dejhah Lineberger added a two-run double in the second frame for the winners.
Anysten Metcalf tripled while Annaleigh Ross and Nelah Dickey each collected two hits to pace Moore County.
Paisley Logan went the distance on the rubber for Moore County, fanning seven batters with seven walks and seven hits.
