Busy spring for Shelbyville Garden Club

The May meeting of Shelbyville Garden Club was held at the home of Sherrie Moore with Freda Head serving as co hostess.

Members report that delicious refreshments were served.

Pam Beasley presented a humorous gardening devotional titled "I'll Plant Anything."

Babs Chicoine gave the month's "gardening tidbit" which was a "show and tell" of her favorite gardening tools: hori hori knife, gauntlet, gardening gloves. bonsai knife used for all her plants and an ergonomic shaped trowel.

President Shirley McGee then circulated programs for the yearbooks and business was discussed. Club members enjoyed telling about various plants they had brought for the plant swap to follow the meeting.

Members enjoyed sharing humorous and annoying experiences of squirrels in the garden.

A tour of the hostess's shade garden followed.

The next meeting was planned for National Garden Club Week, June 6-12, with a focus on mass arrangements.

At their June meeting, to celebrate National Garden Week (June 6-12,) members of Shelbyville Garden Club prepared mass floral arrangements which were then, following the meeting, donated to various public places for display.
