Shelbyville Central’s Golden Eagle golf team claimed second place in the District 8-AAA Tournament played at River Bend Country Club on Wednesday,
The Eagles, along with Eaglette Hannah Campbell, have advanced to the region tournament, which will be played at Indian Hills in Murfreesboro on Monday.
Campbell fired an 80, giving her the third-best round in the girl’s division.
The Eagles carded a team score of 341 for the runner-up spot, just five strokes behind Lawrence County’s 336.
Tullahoma claimed the girls title with a 162.
“River Bend Country Club PGA Pro Rob McGill hosted a first-class TSSAA District Shelbyville Tournament and the golf course was in fantastic condition,” Shelbyville Central coach Jon Dochety said.
“SCHS boys team and Hannah are thrilled to be in the region and we are excited to take our TSSAA District runner-up trophy back to our school.
Brady O’Neal led the Eagles with a 79, the third best round of the day in the boys division.
Hunter Wilhelm posted an 84, Jordan Meece shot an 86 while Ashton Hardison fired a 92.
