Cascade star senior wrestler, Vayden Moore, was named the TSSAA Class A Mid State 144lbs Wrestler of the Year over the weekend.
Vayden posted a record of 53-1 in his senior season. His lone loss came in the final match of the season against Whitwell’s Wyatt Davis (21-3) in the State Championship. Davis took home the title on points following an 11-8 decision.
Moore ended his illustrious career at Cascade with 196 career wins, the most in the program’s history. Head Coach Andy Giel began the wrestling program before the 2017-18 season, and most recently saw Isaac Chapa finish in second place at the State Tournament last year as well.
Moore is still undecided on where he will continue his wrestling career at the collegiate level, in part due to the vast number of universities that have reached out to his camp.
