LAWRENCEBURG — Keeping with the recent trends, the Cascade golf teams saw strong showings in Monday’s Region 6A-AA tournament.

Highlighted by defending state champion Evan Woosley-Reed, the Champions turned in a team score of 357, good enough for a third-place finish in the team standings.

Woosley-Reed kept his stellar postseason play and earned match medalist honors with a 68.

He finished with a 36 on the front nine and closed with a blistering 32 to capture the round-low.

With the team’s third-place finish, Cascade just missed out on a trip to the state tournament as a team.

Garrett Rucker finished his season with a 92, while Hunter Williams and Landon Lane carded a 99 and 98, respectively.

Community was also represented in the region tournament by Logan Miller, who saw his season come to close with a competitive 89.

While the Champs missed out on a trip to the state tournament as a team, the Lady Champions punched their ticket to Manchester with a second-place finish.

Chandler Noel carded an 84, while Kennedy Miller shot an 86 to land the Lady Champs in the state championship tournament next week.

The Division I Small Class tournament is set to begin on Tuesday, September 29 at Willowbrook Golf Club.
