COALMONT — With rains moving in earlier this week, the originally scheduled two-game series between Cascade and Grundy County became a doubleheader on Monday night, which Cascade swept.

GAME 1
Cascade 7, Grundy Co. 0
During the first District 7-AA game between the Champs and the Yellow Jackets, Cascade starter Tyler Knight was in total control on the mound.
Knight pitched all five innings for Cascade and gave up just one hit, while striking out five.
Cascade, on the other hand, relied on two big innings, a three-run first and a four-run fifth, to take Game 1 from Grundy County and give Cascade a much-needed district victory.
Knight helped his own cause with a 2-for-3 night, with a pair of runs knocked in, while Ryan Inmon went 1-for-2 with two RBIs as well.

Cascade 300 04 — 7 5 0
Grundy Co. 000 00 — 0 1 2

Cascade: Ryan Inmon 1-for-2, Walker Craig 1-for-2, Kobe Inmon 1-for-3, Tyler Knight 1-for-3, Jake Bates 1-for-2.

GAME 2
Cascade 3, Grundy Co. 1
Hits were far and few between for both squads in Game 2 of the series, with Cascade pitchers Zach Crosslin and Walker Craig combining for a no-hitter to finish the sweep in a 3-1 win in the nightcap.
Grundy County grabbed the lead with the game’s first run in the top of the first inning, but saw the Champs drive in a pair in the bottom of the frame to take the slim, 2-1 lead.
Cascade never trailed again.
The Champs played add on in the bottom of the fourth inning and the two-run lead held to secure the 3-1 win.
Kobe Inmon was the offensive hero for Cascade, going 1-for-2 with a pair of runs driven in.
